Thessia is a good place to introduce Kai Leng and the data that TIM got on Mars led him to Thessia. He still gets the VI. Take out the moping scene with Shepard and just tell the Councilor Cerberus got there ahead of them without the "I'm sorry" crap.

 

Talk with Hackett who mentions the Quarians and at the same time Anderson can mention Kai Leng. Shepard deals with the Quarian/Geth war. After dealing with that, go back to the Citadel and have the mission play out the same with the death of the Salarian councilor, if Karrahe and Thane are dead, and shooting Udina. Traynor is able to track Kai Leng to Horizon. Shepard andHackett try to figure out what it is on the Citadel that TIM needed. They conclude it has something to do with the VI that Cerberus took on Thessia.

 

The one problem with this is Ashley/Kaidan. They would only be on the ship for a couple of missions before heading to Earth.

Judging by her intro in ME1, that is also a good way to experience death by grenade.

Besides, they retconned quarians later with things such as the compartmentalization of the suit and changing the threshold for short term exposure from "death" to "having an allergic reaction and getting a fever", and really it makes more sense that way. IRL People with AIDS and thus NO immune system don't immediately die horribly when they contract HIV, and some can live for several more years or even decades without having an enviro suit made of space magic.

Garrus managed to kill a Quarian viral specialist with a cough. Quite an ironic end to an ironic life/profession.

1. You contract HIV first (the virus), and then develop AIDS (the syndrome). Not the other way around.

2. Contract HIV =/= Having no immune system. Upon the entry of the virus into one's blood stream the person will have as much immune system as any health individual. In fact, the destruction of one's immune system (or, CD4 cells to be exact) takes a long time, and that is why a person with HIV can live for a long time without any treatment. When you are merely a carrier, you have different degrees of immunity.

3. The onset symptoms of AIDS doesn't mean the person doesn't have no immune system left. It just means that their immune system is extremely weak.

4. I think you meant that after treatment a person who has already developed AIDS can still live a long time. While it is the case, the patients do have their immune systems, instead of having no immune systems. (And that is why they can live without a space suit.) The key to their survival is in inhibiting the virus while rebuilding the patient's immune system.

The last guy to turn on shep would be Garrus and he'd hate himself for doing it. Kinda makes me wish paragon shep's resolution to Garrus' LM had longer lasting consequences, like Garrus resented shep a little from that point on for interfering.

I understand that ALL asari have biotic abilities -- unless their 9-volt battery depletes.    This happened to Jacob in ME3 where he was just a marshmallow -- in contrast to him in ME2 where he "hit's 'em with the good stuff" and occasionally says "nothing can hurt me" (glowing in blue)" .

 

I found it odd that when Udina knocked down the asari counselor and was ready to shoot her, she didn't erect some biotic shield or knock Udina off his feet.   Maybe that's what happens when one plays politics too long.

It's also quite astounding to see how easy people end up in omega and in terminus system. Back in Mass Effect 1 the Terminus was a no-go area and a big unkown. Then in Mass Effect 2, the Citadel and Omega share news broadcasts and,people travel between the Terminus and Citadel system like's driving from home to work.

Honestly, that's about the only real counter-argument one could make against the Catalyst, but it would simply require him to amend his statements with: "if/when they achieve autonomy."

No, but I never said nor implied that they were right, nor am I a big Cerberus/Leviathan supporter or anything.

All that matters to me is if the logic for or against them is sound, and in this case, it's not. All you really said there was (sarcastically) that they "must be nice guys," implying that they are not, but being good and being nice are not the same thing.
