In fairness to Jacob -- hard to believe, I know -- but if our cycle lost the war harvest, it could still take a hundred years, according to Liara, to finish wiping everyone out. Time enough for Jacob's kid to grow up, have kids of his/her own, and watch them have kids too. Can't remember word-for-word but it was stated somewhere -- Liara again? -- that it'd be easy to just disappear out there among the stars and hide from all the troubles.

I know but it's not like they tried to hide on some backwater world to sit the entire thing out, so that's not what he meant either. Besides, according to the story, he would be one of the few who could make a real difference. Basically, the galaxy is crashing down and he thinks now is the best time for him to start a family (as opposed to after the whole crucible business is finished)? I just think he really got his priorities messed up.

Yeah. I [as Shepard] spent ME3 trying to get the message through to everyone that when the apocalypse is upon us, defeating the Reapers is the only thing that matters. In my mind, anyone and everyone who is capable of helping out, should do so, for their own survival.

I get what you're saying. At the time shep rescues Jacob and the scientists on Arrae -- and afterwards, talking with him at Huerta Memorial, and again with those refugee kids (citadel DLC) -- no one knew what the crucible would do when/if it worked, or if it would even be completed in time. All a person could figure is that life is gonna go on, at least for a little while... and faced with the very real possibility of all life as I know it being extinguished sometime over the next hundred years, I might decide, too, that looking out for the people I care about most is more important than being just another gun on the front lines. And well, let's face it, Jacob did do exactly that (farewell scene at the FOB) : "My kill count's through the roof."

God, I'm defending Jacob. <insert Twilight Zone theme>

On Feros, at the ExoGeni headquarters building, after causing the geth ship to fall off the side of the building, effectively cutting power to the force-field that prevented the squad from leaving... Ash: Damn, I would like to have seen the face of their pilot when that thing toppled.

Uhh, Ash? Flashlight heads, remember?

I'm seeing 'baffled' on the left and 'courtship display' on the right, myself.

In a binary world, subtleties of expression are open to interpretation.

In the scared image, Legion looks like that just before it grabs Shepard when he/she chooses the Quarians and when it sees Shepard on the derelict reaper

The right one looks angry, it's top flaps look like they're 'forrowed'.

Any way, Legion's animation and design is amazing, since it can convey a wide arrange of emotions with no face -- something that's very difficult. Ironically, I think it's facial expression (for lack of a better word) is more expressive than the actual human characters. And...

... holy crap! Am I praising a BioWare game? What is happening?
