I thought Ciri played for the other team, if you know what I mean.

Well, she seems to be bisexual in the novels. If I remember correctly only her relationship with Mistle is described, but there are several hints, that she is also attracted to men.

Talking about Ciri-Geralt romance is just weird, as he views her as a daughter. It's possible that she had some advanced feelings towards him, but it's also only hinted and I don't think they were sexual.

Besides Geralt will have enough to do with Yen, Triss, a  brothel district in Novigrad and probably :

Don't read if you don't want a Witcher 3 character spoiler:

I for one welcome our smexy as feck beard!Geralt. Maybe his TW2 look was his more accurate depiction, but hey. Beard.

I may actually play it in English the first time around, this time.

Here's hoping Triss's VA has improved alot as well.

Or atleast got another VA.

There is no way in hell CDPR would be stupid enough to have Ciri as a romantic option. Geralt is protective of her and he loves her as a daughter. To be honest, I was hoping they presented her as a youth, not a woman. The period of training at Kaer Morhen and when Yen is lecturing her on magic was one of my favorite parts of the books.

Well, about than 6 years have passed since the ending of the books. Ciri was born 1251. Witcher 3 will play between 1274-1276, so she is at least 23 years old.

But you might get your wish:

I don't mind the clothes since she is running away from the hunt, but once she gets with the witchers  hope they give her some armor.

Why should she wear armor? There is no single witcher (in the books or games) who wears any kind of armor.

Well they wear light armor in games, and it would be a cool idea if at some point Ciri has to gear up to kick some inter-dimensional elven ass.

Witchers do wear armor,, it's just not the type that people normally wear (since witcher armor is mostly leather and some metal so their movements are not restricted).  Ciri is also not a witcher, she just has their training but she is not mutated so she does not have all their benefits.

Ingame trading card game, as physical feelies included in the X-bawks CE.

Wat.

I'd rather take the cards and the map over the statue, uncool CDPR, uncool.

The fact funbox owners get extra stuff doesn't bother me. The fact I've always wanted a cloth map of the Witcher's world and now I have to bargain on ebay for it, kinda bothers me. What really bothers me is the way they waited for months, and then popped this little nugget into the funbox version. That is not the kind of behavior they are known for.

I'm really, really, really not a fan of statues, I always go for editions without statues if they are cool enough to offer one (like DX:HR or BioShock Infinite), and the Xbawks TW2 EE edition had a goddamn witcher medallion even.

I'd have gladly traded in my Geralt bust (which is sitting in a wardrobe with the CE shoebox for the last three years) for the Dark Edition medallion. :(

Went to gamescom last week and managed to get into the witcher booth to watch 45-minutes of gameplay and get an t-shirt from developers. Pretty cool to meet some of them in person.

For those interested to hear CDPR's answer to the Xbox exclusive thing.

Spoiler

Sounds reasonable to me, especially the bolded part. They are a company after all, and if "sacrifices" like this needs to be made then I won't mind. Besides, it is such a trivial thing to get worked over, if you ask me.

Wasn't planning on buying the collector's edition, so I'm not bothered with the news.

Honestly, they always did have a lot of local versions with different physical content in the boxes - what's important is that we're getting the exact same game without exclusive DLC or the like.

Exactly. People are throwing a fuss over nothing really and jumping to conclusions as always.

I went to the Witcher forum to look at the thread about the MS exclusive physical stuff and i wasn't disappointed ! f*cking hilarious levels of butthurt and for what *cough* a cloth map that i would rather toss in the garbage than keep, who even want that stuff.

But i can understand some of it as well and hope it isn't getting worse and eventually involves in game items, greed always start somewhere.

Also all talk about trust on that board annoys me, you don't simply trust a developer whether it's CDP or not, meh the witcher thread here seems more chill atm.

Fandoms are fandoms; Bioware, CD Project, Ubisoft, it makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary, definitions blurred. If I'm to choose between one fandom or another, I'd rather not choose at all....

The problem is kinda that big fans who tend to buy collector's editions also tend to be collectors and fairly OCD about not getting everything.

I don't know what happened but in the past few days I've finally hit a stride on TW2 and hopefully I'll end the game soon.

It was bad timing on their part and tbh I would want the cards and cloth map. The only swag I collect is Witcher swag. But it's not worth the levels of rage currently on the CDPR site. The company bends over backwards whenever they can for their fans. One of the community members gathered questions from the forum and conducted some interviews at Gamescom:

He had 45 minutes of questions ready but they were obviously very busy. This is much better than the usual questions asked by the press.

I'm not sure why some people get so hyped up about figurines and 'collectibles' and such. Do they do anything other than gather dust on a shelf? Do you do this in your alone time...
