EC and the Black Emporium are free, however. And the Cerberus Network added sizable amounts of content for free, albeit only to new copies. So that's not really true. Plus, I just used Bioware because people like to compare between the two developpers on all fronts. CDPR are more consumer friendly, that's undeniable, but the divide isn't that sharp I find.
The Extended Cut was free because they'd get ENORMOUS amounts of heckling and backlash for charging people to download a bandaid placed on ME3's terrible ending and The Black Emporium was free because it was free with DA2 and people would be seriously annoyed if they had to pay for it this time around when its sole purpose is for having the character creator available mid-playthrough. Those are only free because of circumstances. Especially the Extended Cut.
As for the Cerberus Network, those DLCs were small add-ons that should've been free anyway, so good on them in those few cases. And some DLCs for ME2 you had to pay for;the bigger ones like Kasumi and Overlord were understandable, but weapon and alternate armor packs were not. Those should've been free.
My word isn't law so I won't pretend that everyone's gotta do it the way I think is fit for gaming, but I'd prefer if smaller items like alternative appearances, armors, weapons, small missions/assignments/quests and such were made free, slightly bigger DLCs with questing had a small cost, and large content-filled expansions were the ones that required the bigger price tags.
But thats a dream.
