is 550w power enough for 300w gpu? What would happen if its not enough, could something get damaged?

 

I currently have hd 6950, what is 200w, so if i would buy r9 390, next month what is supposed to use slighly less than 300w.

 

 

Today i preordered this and already preloaded, now just waiting to play.

 

Since 12 years ago I've burnt 2 PSUs.

Don't know if they died because of low lifespan, high voltage pressure (variance) or High wattage consumption by hardwares attached to them.

Don't know if it's downgraded or not, but I really like the lightning and the Sky, and I think it's going to be the best looking RPG out there.

 

The highest resolution available is 2160p. (oh wait.. it's the vertical pixels, right?)

It doesn't matter, I doubt above 1080p can be shown on our old monitors!

I'm personally a bit dissapointed. Its just a bald fat elf.

 

Then again, I don't really know what I was expecting underneath those helmets.

I thought the armor design is very unique, but with the helmet off a bit of that is lost. I just realized his face paint is the wild hunt logo. Maybe for them it's a symbol of Eredin's helm. As a side note. people asking tech questions - I have a beefy rig now with 6 cores and a GTX 980. I'll be making detailed tests with the game and I'll share the results here. The 980 is the flagship card for this game so I expect the best results.

It's more than enough. I use a 480w PSU with my R9 290 (6+8 pin power connector -> 300w max) without problems.

Watching some streams for a bit (since apparently many retailers broke street date and the console version is already unlocked) and while the game globally looks good even on Twitch, the animation quality in the cutscenes I saw verred between decent and lacking. It surprised me because the gameplay trailers and earlier footage like Angry Joe's video of the prologue had great cutscene animations. And that was in a main story quest, too.

CDPR always minimized the animation cutscenes, which are very expensive and demanding (hence how Bioware distributes resources).

I guess the other Wild Hunt "general" is Avallac'h . Though I expect Avallac'h to be very powerful( Vilgefortz kind of powerful)

Why are the Aen Seidhe so pathetic compared to their Wild Hunt cousins?

Because Aen Seidhe were conquered and broken. Most of their young generation was defeated and slaughtered by humans.

Aen Elle never were. They inhabit a world where they rule and dominate (Unicorns being practically their only enemy). They have human slaves, instead of being dominated by humans themselves.

 

I'd say it's mainly a psychological and cultural difference.
