Audio seems to lower for no reason.
Yep, something is up with the audio. Voices sound muffled for no reason and the VO's occasional sound like some person speaking right into a the mic at the expense of everything else. I was wondering if it was just me. Could be a driver issue.

Blah blah blah downgrade downgrade, but I'll be damned if this game isn't gorgeous still.

Runs at a rather comfortable framerate for me too, occasional hitches here and there. Running SLI 780 Tis, so that's not too surprising.

Did you turn Nvidia HairWorks on or off, Snook?

Had it on Geralt only for a while, but turned it off entirely. Normal hair looks fine and will save you a fair share of frames.

The only reason I can't wait for The Witcher 3 to be released (FINALLY, geebus, for a while it seemed like it'd never get out of the way). Saw this trailer a few years ago and I want more!!! And with Witcher 3 outta the way, I'll finally get it. Woohoo!!

On that note, anyone really liking Vesemir this game? So much more charismatic than before. He's like the aloof Witcher grandpa.

Aye, that setting alone is very costly, even if you had it on Geralt only it still drain a good amount of your FPS, I've been messing around with the setting for a while it makes a huge difference if you turned it off entirely. I think if you decrease "Foliage Visibility Range" from ultra to high or lower also help boost your FPS.

How do you know whether your save imported correctly?

I know my save worked because of the Blue Stripes tattoo. Funnily enough it appeared in the dream/flashback too. :S
That's the thing. My Geralt should have the tattoo but doesn't.

My game autodetected Ultra on all but AO which I had to manually set to HBAO. Per my usual preferences I disabled DoF, Motion Blur, Vignette, and Chromatic Aberration. Mouselook in-game is pretty fast at high FPS so I set it from 1 to 0.5 and that fixed it. Using Hardware Mouse option too btw.
Runs really nice but even dual 980s go full fan after a minute. Fortunately my case is designed for airflow so it stays cool. I have to wonder if consoles run hot with all settings maxed.
Anyway, thanks for that guide Elhanan. I'll check out the tweaks once I get into a place where they make a difference. Nothing had much of an impact when looking out of the balcony at the start of the game.

If this is good, as in not a Cyberpunk version of the Witcher, it may be the first CDPR game I buy.

Several things of note from my first few hours with the game-
1. Beautiful on Xbox One
2. Kinda weird how everything blurs when you spin the camera around
3. God I'm getting my ass kicked by wolves and drowners at the start, I'm so bad
4. Realizing that there's a lot to this game and its gonna be a definite time sink

Wondering if disabling Bloom might help those that dislike flashy FX. According to the chart, it would only aid FPS a little, but might help tone down the glare a bit.

Good point; the guide's comment of "loss of fidelty" with disabled Bloom equates for me to "wow I can see better" lol

If this is good, as in not a Cyberpunk version of the Witcher, it may be the first CDPR game I buy.
If it were just a Cyberpunk version of The Witcher franchise, I wouldn't be nearly as excited about it. It's based off of the Cyberpunk tabletop roleplaying game by Mike Pondsmith and character customization will be strongly tied into the plot, and you'll be able to play a female protagonist, if you so choose which is the biggest selling point for me.
But this is all sketchy as of right now because those of us who have been anxious to get more details about it have had to wait, and wait, and wait...and wait.... for The Witcher 3 to finally release, and now that it will FINALLY launch, we'll hopefully get more details about Cyberpunk 2077. If they do end up going the EA route of ultimately developing it around a formula of it being yet another pre-made male protagonist like they did with the Witcher franchise, my enthusiasm for the game will plummet and I'll be a sad, sad panda. ![]()

The introductory graphic intro was really screwy for me on that point but in game the audio had worked fine. It got a bit weird during the first playable section but in the starter area everything normalised.

Seems like my import was okay after all. Apparently I forgot I had the tattoo removed.
What I hate about the game is the pointless weapon/armour repair. W2 didn't have that, did it?

I am really liking this game a lot. It reminded me of my first time through Red Dead Redemption. The exploring and discovery remind me of why I do not use guides anymore for open world games. They would take all the fun out of the game for me.
