What. Signs were always awesome (if not overpowered).
They weren't very balanced is what I meant. I don't know if they changed it or not but using Quen was basically a god-mode.

Quen in TW3 is just a one-hit shield effectively, right? I mean thats what I heard.

Not really. It got nerfed in TW2, the barrier was destroyed on the first hit no matter which difficulty you played.
In TW3 it will be the same.

Geralt's Quen was nerfed in TW2. Letho's wasn't. There is much fun to be have in the first encounter with him. ^^

They nerfed it after release, then, and that is good to hear about TW3.
The tree being good is kinda obvious in the aftermath, isn't it?
The first time you see 'the ladies' they are shown as beautiful women on that tapestry. Spirit of the forest? Some ugly mass of tentacles straight from Lovecraft. Yet, it's 'the ladies' that turn out to be the real monsters here - I mean come on.
Appearances can be deceiving. It's a trick Sapkowski often used in the novels.
Agreed. It is a very subtle way to subconsciously make one want to trust something beautiful rather than something ugly. I'm not a fan of "Fetch quests" but I am glad CDPR manages to make them good through simple methods like that.
I wonder how the one guy from the village will react if you don't kill the tree thing at the hillock.

He'll give you his sex card.
I've already said it but it's really awesome on how TW3 finally feels like the books and this makes me happy.
My, those witches were nasty. Everything looks amazing. I really cannot wait for this.
Well, the one in the middle does have really big boobs...

Made you wish they'd bring back the sex cards, eh?

I'd rather have one of Iorveth. ![]()
So, let the witches live, or set the tree creature free?
I STILL haven't played the Iorveth side.
Guess I have time though.

I rather burn both.

'dem Ladies need body pillows for me to burn at my leisure.
wish Gerald would have some man on man action : /

The Iorveth path has the better storyline and characters.
The Roche path is... distasteful.

I enjoyed the Roche path, so what you're saying is...
I should get on that
The Iorveth path has more honorable characters. Saskia is probably the most noble and honorable character from the two first two games. She may be naive but her cause is just and noble. She is also the underdog in the story. Why would you not want to help the "Joan of Arc" in the story??
The Roche path has some very despicable characters, and you would be playing on their side when you follow the Roche path. The Roche path is filled with treacheries. You would be helping one selfish king and tyrant after another to consolidate powers and backstab each other. The Game-of-Thrones-style politics is fun to watch, but very distasteful to be a participant.

Both sides have politics and are masterfully done and written. Which is the sole reason where it shows "choices matter".
If Henselt and Dethmold would end up as your friends like most rebels do it would be pretty much the same plot just from the different perspective. Roche's path is also really good for "neutral path".
I don't understand however why are people keep saying Witcher is like GOT, even though the Witcher appeared years before Game of Thrones did and they are not even similiar aside from being fantasies.
P.S Roche cutting off Dethmold's ballz is another reason why you should side with him rofl

I find that another reason not to side with him, actually. Roche is a hotheaded douche. He's not all bad, because he does bother to help Geralt out even if Geralt didn't go with him after Flotsam, but he's not very sympathetic to me. More of a hypocrite. Flips out when he's called a wh*re's son, yet what does he call Iorveth upon first seeing him? Pfft.

That was established from the begining. Roche is an honorable man and proud servant of Temeria, but he is also a killer, murderer and sadistic bastard.
Hell, he even admits how much he enjoyed torturing Kaedweni spy. But that's the reason why i like him. He has flaws like most characters in Witcher universe do, even Geralt.
Makes me wonder how they will introduce Emhyr in W3.

You really should, if only for the extra quests and areas you get to see. I thought Vergen was a more interesting area than Henselt's camp.Plus, Iorveth will make you doubt Roche big time by act two.
