So, the end of the Family Matters quest chain....

Just finnished some stuff on Skellige with Yen.

I gotta admit, I kinda regret having already romanced Triss in this playthrough. I mean, I love her to bits, but Yenn is amazing as well. I just love her confidence and interactions with Geralt.

If they existed in the same universe Yenn and Morrigan could pass for sisters.

Morrigan, Yennefer and Miranda Lawson are somewhat alike and could be sisters. Ice queen b***hes who like kinky stuff but have a soft spot for the people that matter to them.

I haven't met Zoltan or Dandelion yet. Are they in the main quest, or sidequests?

hehe, bit of both :) I am still in Novigrad at level 17 almost 18. Won't be leaving for Skellige anytime soon. Taking my time to finish up all the good quests around in Velen. No rush to complete the story as i probably won't start a new save right after this.

I knew Ciri's voice actress sounded familiar. I kept saying to myself I have heard her voice before. Then I SMH a million times for missing it. Of course it is Female Hawke voice.

I can't say this game is a 10/10. Right now I would say it is 9.5-9.9/10 from what I have played. This game is epic and so much damn fun. I haven't even bother doing many of the sidequests. I really want to see how this story unfolds. Then go back and checkout all of the stuff I miss. I have done some quests that made me failed other quests. I am missing out on some content.

For anyone picking up Sword of Destiny, as the english translated version released yesterday, watch out, the paperback version is a lot bigger then the other versions!

Also the Collectors Edition of the Game Guide, comes with like a 96 page compendium of biographical notes, lore, and exclusive marginalia art. Also filled with information about important people, places, and legendary heroes within the world of the Witcher!

And it can only be found with Collector's Edition of the Game Guide :P

But anyway, I might restart my save so I can get those Gwent cards of the White Orchad Innkeeper, before she dissapears lol.

And to see that Herbalist again. She was quite a sight :P

I met Vernon Roche. I have to say, while it's nice to get some extra closure for Witcher 2's cast, it's just obvious fanservice too. Vernon and Letho are simply cameos and I feel like that's already a step down from what I expect from CDPR.

...but I digress. There's no way to fit all the beloved Witcher 2 characters into Witcher 3's plot without making an overly bloated cast in the end. I thought Vernon and Letho's side content in Witcher 3 sticks out like a sore thumb and in contrast to how good the rest is.

But on the other hand I just finished up Triss's arc in Novigrad. What can I say? My outcome with her was really awesome. And the last cutscene before her quest ended was a stroke of genius from CDPR.

I also wanna say, what I like about this game is that while there seems to be more focus on romance this time, but it's still not like there's too many options and half of them don't really do anything for the plot. I think having Triss as a romance option is a logical option given her history with Geralt in W1 and W2, but the rest of the optional romances are just flings and honestly, it's better that way.

I remember in Mass Effect 3, I was kind of amazed at how many ME1 and ME2 romances were possible to rekindle with, but at the same time I felt like it was just too much and too little attention to the individual romances. In a lot of ways, Witcher 3 strangely reminds me of how much I love Mass Effect 1. There's basically two canon romance options and there's more detail to each of them.

I'm getting all excited for ME4 now, but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

I disagree, Roche fits perfectly into the conflict and what he's oding now makes sense.

As for Lewtho, it makes sense tbh.

Gwent Cards!

I'm going to waste so much time on just this part of the game. Hell with it, if they release this as an app I'd buy it, it'd be my new time sink.

I meant Keira and such. I'm refering to Yen and Triss as the two "canon options"

They're clearly pushing for Gwent to be its own game. Just might happen. I still want dice poker back.

So just did a quest where the Woman knew her Sister's husband was a Werewolf, and was in love with him, so she took her sister to him a night when he turned which turned into the Werewolf killing her.

Let the Werewolf kill her, then the Werewolf wanted Geralt to kill him.

I just.

Consequences within consequences lol. About to do a Witcher contract, titled "Jenny Of the woods" or something similar.

I think at the moment, my 3 main quests are Ladys of the Bog, Baron's Mansion/House, and Skellig.

How close am I to meeting Triss with that knowledge? Or am I some way of?

I don't mind, and the only answers I want are "Close", or "still a bit ways of".

I haven't time sunk this game due to Destiny's expansion, so I'm like the Snail in the race compared to all you fast ones :P

All I remember from Dice Poker is the following

1: Matching pairs of Dice

2: If opponent wins, reload

3: Profit.

Anybody else having the graphics and gameplay basically run smoothly except for the dialogue being out of sync with the characters' lips moving in cutscenes?

Dice Poker was pretty bad imo. You could reroll the RNG but it was still pure RNG.

Gwent also has some in your card draw, but you can influence it  lot more. The AI is also pretty decent; I had the Bloody Baron throw down all his spies in the first round once, then pass. Means he has 13 cards to my 7 for the next two rounds, and I lost. Puts the AI in Hearthstone to shame, really, albeit admitedly Gwent has a lot less variables and a much more present power creep (ex. 10 strength cards have no additional cost, they are just straight up better than other cards with no effects).

Also, make sure to do the Baron's follow-up quest after Family Matters if you want a conclusion to his story. The feels are real.
