Strange.

Spoiler

She accusses Lodge because otherwise Radovid declares genocide on all mages present in Loc Muinne.

If you went on Roche's path Geralt doesn't even know Philipa.

Absolutely love the soundtrack. Anyone know which is playing when talking to the witches in the bog? Also it had both combat and exploration music, DA:I was very lacking on that.

If Geralt somehow crossed over to Thedas with his abilities intact would he be more powerful than types of heroes and villains seen in Thedas or would he be some kind of godsend? and crush most everyone one on one?

People in Thedas have been known to kill dragons in one on one combat without the aid of mutations or magic and I'm not just talking about PCs.

He would be better than most but probably get crushed by top tier warriors and mages.

If we add things like Samson wearing his Red Lyrium armor...

Any swordsman would die against Geralt 1 on 1. Aside from his 80+ years of combat experience, he also trained almost nonstop for the majority of his childhood. That's also ignoring his superhuman reflexes, hearing, eyesight, and strength. They know basic magic, and have an advanced understanding of Alchemy. Witchers don't die in combat against humans unless they slip up or are heavily out numbered.

Witchers are super overpowered compared to DA warriors. Mages would be another question, but Geralt has killed mages before. At least it would be a somewhat even fight. The only class in that would really give Geralt trouble is an Arcane warrior.

Geralt is mutated. And Saskia is a young dragon and he got lucky she landed on a tree.

Hell, Corypheus showed a greater mastery of elemental magic than Vilgefortz (and then we can add things like super strength and immortality) and he handed Geralt's ass to him in one on one.

I don't like this at all. Definitely not after how Radovid has been portrayed in both games.

Well gonna see for myself how it is handled, since I'm hardly in a position to judge.

Eh I would agree but the writing was on the wall in the past games and his obsession with crushing magic users. So it makes sense that he is falling into madness (he was already pretty mad to begin with so it's not like this comes out of nowhere)

Just spent about 15 minutes killing an Earth Elemental that was about 15 levels higher than myself. Quen, heavy attack, dodge, repeat.

Never hit me. I feel like a god.

Humans in Thedas have bigger feats than humans in The Witcher.

Furthermore, Leo Bonhart killed three.

This is pretty tortured logic. You seem to be arguing that Geralt's "feats" aren't as impressive because of his mutations -- which indicates you believe he possesses abilities that characters in the Dragon Age franchise universe simply don't have -- while maintaining Geralt couldn't defeat top tier warriors or mages, despite the fact he has done it on repeated occasions in the Witcher universe.

That makes zero sense.

So many people have compared these new open world rpg's to Skyrim. Don't know why, its not like Skyrim is the first TES game, but i digress. The Witcher 3 really gives me more of a Red Dead Redemption feel, and i say that with the utmost respect. RDR is one of those games, like this one that is up there as the best ever.

I noticed in the way Geralt rides the horse, the way the sun sets and rises on the vista, the landscape, the encounters with the people in the world. The feeling of the towns. Even though one is a western and the other is a medieval type game they are very similar. So if that was their intention then much more props for looking at a great game like RDR and bringing some of its great elements into the game.

If characters with no mutations can do the things Geralt does only thanks to his mutations, then it already follows they are already as good as what is a super human in the Witcher universe despite having no supernatural abilities. The best warriors and mages of the Witcher universe aren't necessarely as strong as those of the DA universe.

For instance, per WoT volume 2, Cailan and Anora killed a giant while they were teenagers and they are 100% normal. Trained soldiers in the Witcher universe tend to be mostly incapable of killing much smaller monsters unless they heavily outnumber them.

Then, we can start adding things like the Blight, Red Lyriums, Reavers, etc.

I haven't met Zoltan or Dandelion yet. Are they in the main quest, or sidequests?

Main quest. You can't miss them I think.

Am i the only one that vastly prefer Fallout 3 to New Vegas? Both great games ofc.

I can't stand Fallout 3. It completely raped Fallout's lore and just common sense.

Technology level and civilization in Fallout 3 is for some reason on a comparable or lower level when compared to Fallout 1, despite the fact, that it happens over a century later.

Fallout 3 has no real cities to speak of, while Fallout 2 which happened 20 years earlier, had large city hubs with thousands of inhabitants.

DC is a pile of ruins that you can hardly cross, despite Brotherhood of Steel operating there, and the fact, that people lived on the surface for about 120 years at this point. Were the people of the West Coast so lazy, they prefered to live in wooden houses without fresh water, when their counterparts in the south lived in large, clean and well supplied cities, with a democratic government?

Super Mutant Behemoths? What the hell I say again, those creatures made no sense whatsoever, the existence or creation of a monster so huge is absurdly impossible.

A village built around a nuclear bomb, and still existing 200 years after the Great War? (and over 140 years after people started leaving the Vaults?)

New Vegas was true to Fallout's lore, and had a far superior story, better characters and far better side quests and general quest design.

I'm not really waiting for Fallout 4, as long as Bethesda is making it. Bethesda's games are not for me, I don't enyoy sandboxes with characters you forget 15 minutes after you close the game.

Sorry, I had to vent a little, I get this spasm when anybody mentions Fallout 3 near me.

Eh, Reavers can kill dragons with their bare hands and only get tougher as you wound them, Templars can cancel out magic, and Champions become outright invincible in gameplay (in lore I assume it's more that they are masters of defensive postures). You also got Assassins (stealth masters) and Tempests (slowing down time or creating an ice armor) to contend with, and Dragon Age mages have access to better combat magic than Witcher mages as I saw it.

Anyway, the two settings don't play by the same rules so it's impossible to truly say. But a well-equipped PC of any class stands a chance of beating Geralt. He's very hard to kill but by no means invincible, and has been defeated more than once in-universe.

Witchers in general would not stand out in a high fantasy world where mages can sling powerful magic like they can in DA. But Geralt might be an exception. He's barely that in the Witcher universe, where mages absolutely rule, with both brains and magic ability.

Because both are open world fantasy games that have a game world inspired by viking culture.

TW3 CAN be compared to Skyrim and it completely and utterly shits on it.

Ugh, I feel you. You either draw your Biting Frost ( preferably 2) or pretty much auto-lose against the ridiculous zerg rush. Another way is to just play cheap cards/spies on first round, let them blow their load, then pass. Once they exhaust their Muster cards, they are easy pickings, and with luck some of said Musters come from their hand so you gain card advantage.

Albeit it's becoming easier as time goes on. A tip, beat the players indicated by the Gwent quests, their unique cards are often 10 strength heroes, or if not just pretty good in general, and many of them aren't that hard to beat. Zoltan did give me a headache with his three Hero cards however.
