I'll definitely be doing the same. Ended up missing my opportunity to get a "boss" card after a certain quest - drat.

Extremely happy with the game so far. I'll put in more detail after the first playthrough's done.

I'm not planning to play the game any time soon (wooden PC), I'm watching cutscenes from Youtube. Is it me or half of Novigrad talks with Blackwall's voice? That is kinda hilarious...

Not too far off. Velen and Beforehand tend to enter the Oppressed Peasantry Field of VA. Considering the prevalence of the criminal underground, the tough-as-nails voices are definitely going to be in Novigrad.

The less gruff voicing will show up, particularly with a quest that's rather hard for other RPGs to imitate.

Wow thanks! that's great, so they didn't exaggerate with the "50 hours" of mainstory. I'm so happy right now.  Everytime I finish a mainstory quest I have a bad feeling knowing that I'm closer to the end, but it's great there is still so much content left. (and I have played 70 hours so far)

Honestly he always seemed to me to be only a few steps from the abyss in terms of mental stability so not in the least surprised by his development given the more extreme circumstances

Alteast 2 named characters is voiced by him and alot of npc's around Novigrad. He sounds exactly like Blackwall, i liked it

Ok... where the hell do you find rope? It can't be crafted unless there's some super secret rope diagram hidden away as loot somewhere, no merchant I've found has it and seemingly nothing in my inventory can be broken down to get it.

I think you have to dismantle a fishing net. Found some in White Orchard's loot piles. I'll double check.

 

edit - oops. Nets can only be dismantled into twine. Now i don't even know how i got a rope.

As someone who's never played a game in the series yet but wants to play through the prequels before Wild Hunt, what would you say is the best way to go about this? I'd obviously prefer to play both the first and second game but doubt the second would run well on my dated PC, so is it worth getting both on PC just for the save import or skipping the original and just getting Assassin of Kings on console?

I think I got rope from dismantling a "rope ladder"....which seems fairly logical. Can't remember exactly where I found the ladder, but it might have been in the:
