If the world bores me or has no life, then the devs failed. This is common for Bethesda and Bioware, it is not for CDP. Even bloody The Witcher had better atmosphere then any Bethesda or Bioware game.

Disagree on that. TW1 didn't have a great atmosphere as soon as you left the Temple district, IMO. And some special events felt off; I distintly remember insect monsters (Endregas?) popping out of the ground in Act 3 and no one bat an eyelash. Act 4 was pretty good, I gotta admit. But compared to, say, Omega in ME2 or Haven during the atack in Inquisition? Nope, not better.

TW3 is another matter entirely. The weather effects alone are pretty amazing even on my mid-range machine. That said, I had kinda hoped to see more skimishes between Nilfgaardian and Redanian forces; there's a war on, but both sides camp on their positions and Velen doesn't look like that much of a no man's land outside of the shores of the Pontar (the destroyed bridge looks awesome however). It suffers a bit from the show, don't tell problems Inquisition had in regards to its own mage vs Templar war.

On the other side, the entire questline surrounding th Ladies of the Wood drips with atmosphere in a way Bioware has failed to manage, t'is true.

So I banged Keira last night.  Am I going to get in trouble later on?

I killed her after she threatened to tell Yen or Triss on me. No loose ends and all, oh but I told myself it was because she was about to help commit genocide via biological warfare.

Compared to Bioware and Bethesda games? Yes the first Witcher has better atmosphere.

Geralt is boxing a viking for her honor and Yen is just standing on the sidelines, fanning herself.

Is it bad that as soon as I saw this majestic sight I dove in and tried to shoot it, hoping I could harpoon it or something? PETA would disapprove.

...unfortunately it seems to disappear as soon as it goes under.

SO MUCH PRETTY

At least in Quest Quality, it's like Night and Day. DA:I Handled the Main Quest and Loyalty Well enough, but the inconsistent quality and creativity put in hurt it. Graphical Quality's about the same on PS4, but a well-powered PC could do a hell of a lot more I bet. The design philosophy feels a great deal more realistic, and I'll always prefer Solo Action RPGs, so it's a winner to me.

I had a whole lot of fun with DA:I, but TW3 has definitely earned its legendary status.

DA:i is a single player MMO, nothing more. It's stuffed with crappy fetch quests.

Not to mention, the Witcher 3 will probably be 10 times better supported with patches and fixes. CDR even comes up with completely enhanced versions with much better performance and gameplay for free.

To say that Witcher fans have a monopoly on the flame wars is asinine. There has been no shortage of Witcher bashing in the Dragon Age forums, and most of it has come from posters who admit they've never even played the series.

Sorry but while I do like DAI, DAI IS open for comparison because it is a fantasty CRPG that had similar promises and goals likeTW3, alot of ones that  Bioware failed to upkeep or didn't deliver.

Let's also not act like TW fans are the worst, there have been plenty of people on this site in the DA/ME forums that bash TW, call it's fans names, call the games sexist and one person even outright said people who enjoyed TW2 should die.

I don't disagree with that, but a healthy number of Witcher fans tend to be very quick to the draw with their superiority complex, almost spiteful about it. A shame.

Both groups of fans have some ugly attributes, over two very good games with their own flaws.

All I'm saying is that instead of pointing fingers, why not just stop perpetuating this stupid feud? Especially when it tends to lead to threads getting locked.

If I had to file a complaint to the Official Witcher Complaint Department, dealing with monsters is far more aggravating than dealing with guards, especially the 1-Handed Weapon Wielders. Pulling off a Counterattack is fairly easy-peasy. Trying to dodge the average drowner or such seems like an effort in futility, and I'm better off spamming Quen==>trying to hit them from behind.

Seen a few bugs where NPCs in cinematics flat-out dissapear(Dudu and one other), one crash, and a few weird glitches.

DA:i is a single player MMO, nothing more. It's stuffed with crappy fetch quests.

To be fair from what I have played Witcher 3 does have it's share of filler as well which does detract from the experience somewhat, but that said where DA:I was mostly filler the Witcher 3 still retains it's share of masterfully crafted quests and content, the quests and content that aren't filler have a level of depth and creativity the Dragon Age series can't possibly hope to achieve, it still knows which strings to pull and where to poke.

That said lets try to keep the Dragon Age bashing to a minimum, far as I am concerned Dragon Age isn't even a blip on the Witcher's radar and it would be unfair to kick a dog while it is down.

Holy crap Kaer Morhen is probably the most freaking gorgeous area in the game.

Spent the last little while just soaking it all in. :3

Y'know another thing I'm very impressed with this game is how well they've managed to avoid hair clipping this time around...expected Geralt's hair to clip through the collar of the bear armour, but instead it just gathers up rather nicely inside the collar as it should.

I'm having an issue with the "Griffin" school gear quest. What am I supposed to do to get at the flying creature across the drawn drawbridge. Am I just missing some obvious trigger?

Edit: Ah. It was some jumping puzzle that drove my collision detection nuts. Not fun.
