If the world bores me or has no life, then the devs failed. This is common for Bethesda and Bioware, it is not for CDP. Even bloody The Witcher had better atmosphere then any Bethesda or Bioware game.
Disagree on that. TW1 didn't have a great atmosphere as soon as you left the Temple district, IMO. And some special events felt off; I distintly remember insect monsters (Endregas?) popping out of the ground in Act 3 and no one bat an eyelash. Act 4 was pretty good, I gotta admit. But compared to, say, Omega in ME2 or Haven during the atack in Inquisition? Nope, not better.
TW3 is another matter entirely. The weather effects alone are pretty amazing even on my mid-range machine. That said, I had kinda hoped to see more skimishes between Nilfgaardian and Redanian forces; there's a war on, but both sides camp on their positions and Velen doesn't look like that much of a no man's land outside of the shores of the Pontar (the destroyed bridge looks awesome however). It suffers a bit from the show, don't tell problems Inquisition had in regards to its own mage vs Templar war.
On the other side, the entire questline surrounding th Ladies of the Wood drips with atmosphere in a way Bioware has failed to manage, t'is true.
