Anyway, found this online, its funny because its true
Not exactly. Geralt is a prewritten character for sure and he cares about Yenn, but it is we the players who choose s to what extent. It has been two years, and he may have moved on. Yen hasn't, she doesn't want to, but we get to choose if we think so.
Exactly. Geralt is Geralt, but we still have some control over him. This is an rpg with a set character. We decide what to say during conversations, during quests, but it somehow disappears when Yen shows up. Or at least, almost everything leads to the same result.
Aye. But some of it will always be there, is my point. Can't get past that. This isn't Dragon Age, this The Witcher. Geralt will always have his own opinions that a player cannot and will not alter past a certain degree.
This is your opinion, but in mine when I play rpg I want to have a control over my character. Doesn't matter if it's a set character or a character I'm creating. And everything was great in first two games, but in Wild Hunt writers are forcing us to something. Say what you want, but IT IS forcing us to a relationship with a certain character.

The simple truth is with the dijin's spell still on Geralt & Yenn (until player choose to alter that at the end of "the Last Wish" mission). Geralt & Yenn could not be separated from each other.

There's no real forcing of anything. This is canonically how Geralt and Yenn are connected. Thats like saying the game forces you playing as Batman to don the suit and stop crime when you should be able to play as Bruce Wayne and go get a really expensive cheesesteak. Both are viable but there's a reason it is what it is.
Side note- Now I want the option to play as Bruce Wayne and get a really expensive cheesesteak in Arkham Knight. That sounds glorious actually. hahaha
Kind of like how TW2 defaulted Geralt into a relationship with Triss.
It isn't exactly a new thing.
But this only happens when you don't use your save games. This happens in rpg games (default choices must be set) and yet I think we should've had more choices in that matter for the sake of the player. Both with Geralt's relationships and some story decisions, but you know... You can't have everything. I played TW1 and 2 on pc, but TW3 I play on ps4, because my pc is a piece of ****, so I also play without my save games ![]()

Okay, I give up
You won't change my mind and I won't change yours. I don't like what CD Projekt done with Geralt/Yen relationship even after you lock romance with Triss. Let's leave it like that.
There's where the difference lies then, far as opinions go. Some want more player agency in the narrative and want more options for the sake of the player, others are willing to accept some things being set in stone and are fine with not being able to completely change a character.
Perfectly legitimate opinions to have.

No, Geralt and Triss are together in TW2 no matter what you import.
Wut? Since when? No, I'm asking seriously, because I've seen many times in game options to just turn Triss down.
The beginning of the game speaks for itself, true, but later? No.

Some Triss fans feeling what Shani fans were feeling when TW2 launched, haha. Speaking of, Shani in TW3?

The beginning of the game is what Snook is on about. Geralt and Triss are linked to each other in TW2 regardless of what choice between Triss/Shani was made in TW1. This is also why Yenn calls out Geralt on Triss regardless of what you do throughout TW2;because its canon in the game's events that Geralt and Triss have slept together(opening of TW2).

Wasn't there some talk about Shani supposedly being a part of one of the upcoming expansions?

Oh yeah, heard about that, forgot about it. Nevermind.

NOM NOM NOM
Felt chills when I heard it the first time. So good.
You're forced into Yen? Really? So all those people who romanced Triss and got her ending are all illusions?
I find it funny that Triss fans didn't give a **** when something similar happened to Shani fans, but now it's happening to them. it's like it's new.
AT least Triss fans CAN reconcile with her, unlike Shani fans who pretty much got the bird from CDP in TW2.

Hope it's true.
I am curios as to what will happen to Kaer Morhen now.
I believe Shani is to appear in the 2nd Expansion, titled "Blood and Wine". I'm not entirely sure, but with any luck she is. I love that Medical Student Lady Elf. Even if she did scorn me for giving Alvin over to Triss lol.
The Expansion apparently details the arrival of new characters, and those dearly missed. I wouldn't mind more quests with Yen and Triss. I understand the expansion content isn't post main-story, but still wouldn't hurt.
Speaking of it, I still need to purchase the Expansion. I'll definitely be coming back to this game over and over, so may as well get it now so I don't have to worry.

Polish version is the best, French version 2nd, and German version 3rd. ![]()
Hey guys,
I've got a quick question: how much, if any, control do we have in regards to the hero's personality this time? Because I have to admit, I've tried playing the witcher 2, but stopped pretty quickly because who I had to be annoyed the hell out of me, enough to drop the game wishing I could play someone else, almost anyone else would have been better.
I've also heard that you could control a female character? Is that true? I might give it a try just for that if true.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Geralt is, as written by many others here before, a very pre-defined character with wonderful sarcasm. You can be a little meaner sometimes, or give a fock, but that's it. No "darkside" path or turning him into some cheerful "Hawke"-Jester. What you get is what you get here. You basically play Geralt, not a role you want to..
And at some occasions, mostly flashbacks (as far as I am into the game) you play Ciri, who is pretty much overpowered. And also doesn't do much for me, I'd rather play Triss or Yenn and blast people with fireballs, maybe in an expansion...
So yeah, no luck for you, 100% Geralt. Who, in regards to the Triss-lovers, is bound to Yenn, and this is how I am gonna play it first time..but damn, it will be hard to ditch Triss, I really dig red hair...
