You don't live to become the grandady of all Witchers without being a huge badass. Wouldn't be too surprised if old Vesimir could take on Geralt himself.

He went from looking like a freak mutant to a granpa. I think in Witcher 1 Geralt was more awesome. Minus the older graphic engine.

It IS a bit weird to see so many people denounce Geralt as a freak when, minus the cat eyes and white hair, he looks like any other human being. He isn't even really an albino anymore.

He doesn't look too different to me. Witcher 1 just lacks the detailed skin textures and advanced lighting.

I still think his design was better in Witcher 1. Now he look very generic and pappy like. Maybe a DLC ? I mean they made a reskin of Yennefer. Why not Geralt ?

As for Geralt's design, eh I prefer TW3 look. I've always picture Geralt without it, but now I just can't do it without him having that beard.

I'm still bummed about Dijkstra:

In the begnning of the game i wanted to help the North (specially Temeria) to repel Nilfgaard and kill Emhyr. I saw in Radovid the best chance to do it, but when I saw what he did to the mages and to non-humans, I saw him as a threath to Triss and Geralt's friends. Then I wanted a third option, a North free of Nilfgaard and Radovid .
When Dijkstra proposta the assassination of Radovid, he told Geralt what a powerful Kingdom should be and how Radovid threathened the North. I agreed with him in agreed to him in both accounts.
The phrase "Becareful what you wish, because you just might get it" never fitted me so well. After Radovid's assassination, Dijkstra told what he would do, unite the North against Nilfgaard, and I agreed with him again. But when he said he would kill (b)Roche, I couldnt let him do it, even if he was what I wanted =/.

So congratulations to cdrp, thats was a very difficult decision to me, and I still feel bad for it.
But Ciri as empress and temeria as a vassal kingdom is not bad.

Regarding some of your frustrations with Geralt/Yenn, folks(not really a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway)-

I think some of you are forgetting that Geralt is a predefined character that existed far before events in the games. Sure Yennefer wasn't in the first two games, but the fact of the matter is this;canonically, she is the one that matters to him. That is why Yenn and Geralt are so interlinked in this game. Yeah Triss was a(not the, but a) romance option in the first two games but even she admits that she took advantage of his amnesia and is happy for him that no one can do that to him anymore. And she admits this when you've just reunited with her and are walking around outside.

 

You need to take a moment(just a moment for the realization) and distance yourself, the player, from the game. You are not Geralt. Geralt is Geralt. You might not care for Yennefer but he does. Now the game allows you to forsake her and what they had to stay with Triss and that is a perfectly legitimate option to take should you choose to take it because hey, she's who you partnered with in TW1 and TW2. But if the game shows a connection between Geralt and Yennefer that is outside of your control as the player, that is because its in Geralt and Yennefer's control. And that is perfectly understandable because that is how they were written by their creator.

It would be both odd and OOC for both Geralt and Yenn if that wasn't acknowledged at all, even if the player decides to have Geralt choose Triss. The player can decide that relationship is over at the start of TW3, but they can't change that Geralt spent two decades in love with her and raised a daughter with her. Geralt having some dialogue that acknowledges that past or his conflicted emotions makes sense.

Done with the game and oh dear me was it far, far, faaaaar better than I could hope it would be. Not had this much fun with a game that's been released over the last few years and I'm perfectly content with what was offered. CDP, you done good!

Like, I love this game as much as the next guy but as a fan of Witcher 2 there's a couple of story-related things that I think shows that either it didn't have the same writing staff or the writers make Bioware mistakes and discard some aspects of continuity for the sake of convenience.

Where the hell is Anaïs? In Witcher 2 I saved Triss instead of helping Roche, and then in the epilogue he concluded that since he no longer had a king to protect and the Blue Stripes were gone he would protect Anaïs, "the true heir to Temeria's throne". Then in Witcher 3, not only is Anaïs not here for no reason, but Roche suddenly has a new Blue Stripes (so no development?) encampment, and just to make it worse I can now become a kingslayer together with Roche because Radovid is mad (true that but... I feel like we're missing some nuance somehow). But seriously, I can become a kingslayer... after an entire second game where the story was about cleansing your name from being wrongly accused of killing King Foltest, and Roche joins in pretty voluntarily as well. I think it's not completely silly, but it does feel very cheap coming from Witcher 2.

I'm surprised how much Yenn has surprised me as a character. I was affraid I wouldn't like her, but she turned into quite a favorite.

 

I just can't see Geralt with anyone else anymore. The dynamic between him and Yenn is too strong.

I'm not sure how the scene works with the Triss romance, but I feel like Triss' 'little sis' scene with Ciri would be extremely awkward if you're romancing her. I just can't see Geralt with anyone other than Yenn. :S
