I'm not sure how the scene works with the Triss romance, but I feel like Triss' 'little sis' scene with Ciri would be extremely awkward if you're romancing her. I just can't see Geralt with anyone other than Yenn. :S

Yeah, she calls Ciri little sis too if you romanced her.

Which did feel kinda weird :S

Yeah that was one of those scenes that put me off. There was little to no content with Triss at that point in the game and got that ontop of it was abit disturbing. I still don't get that vibe from Yennefer though, and its mostly her personality.

Geralt and Triss sells their whole love story on how they look at eachother. He also smiles and laughs alot in her presence and that makes me happy. Which in turn is what its all about, beeing happy with the game and the choices i made.

Triss is great, but I've gotten to the point where I just can't rationalize Geralt being with anyone other than Yennefer. It is about Geralt and his story, but it does help that I personally prefer women like Yennefer.

Yeah if i only did. But i like people that are in general happy and wanna help others be happy. And are not pragmatic. It is possible that Yennefer will grow on me, but i won't play this game as much as DA:O, took me probably about 5 playthroughs to like Morrigan. So chances are that Triss is the one. Plus redheads!

Like, I love this game as much as the next guy but as a fan of Witcher 2 there's a couple of story-related things that I think shows that either it didn't have the same writing staff or the writers make Bioware mistakes and discard some aspects of continuity for the sake of convenience.

CDP also pulled similar things with going from TW to TW2 so not surprising that somethings where not continued.

Has anybody else realized that there is a Fight Club and Snatch reference in the game? :P

Georgious George and Tailor Durden.

There is also a Star Wars reference...a bounty hunter named Djenge Frett.

Yeah, I feel like Triss was a great original character but they didn't use her well enough, because she just used geralt while he had amnesia and rationale says Geralt should return to his book-canon after he recovers his amnesia.

I feel like there ended up being a lot of reverse-character-progression in CDPR's continuation of the books but I have yet to finish W3, so I should lay off on judging it any further.

This is the first game where Triss was in fact well written. She was meh in TW, and horrid in TW2(forced sex, damsel in distress? Get out of here CDP)

Could they have dialed down on Yen kissing Geralt if you didn't return her feelings? Yes but look at the bright side. At least YOU can continue to romance Triss, Shani fans can't and will forever be burned.

I think CDPR handled Triss romance greatly, actually. I see no reason to complain.

As for Shani, I really hope if she does appear in a DLC, she has a romance arc. My first time playing the first Witcher game, I went straight after her. I gave her Alvin, a ring, and then got Dandelion to send her a letter! So I hope she makes quite the return.

To this day I hate that old woman in the house Shani stayed at. I had to get kicked out like 3 - 4 times before I could actually go upstairs to her and TALK to her lol. Oh my god if that old woman makes a return in a DLC where Shani returns I might just cry.

Plus her in the Witcher 3 engine:

I cannot justify choosing Triss over Yennifer, especially after this scene.

My god moral dilemmas, should I take a fall to the Fish Gulper?! heh heh, no... I be Geralt of Rivia and that would hurt my reputation. sorry Gulpie.

You see this is what I like to see, if there are going to be side quest, treasure hunts, contracts, whatever... make'em meaningful, even if its just so ****** poor dirt farmer who needs a coin to feed himself. a choice in whether to comply or deny makes me feel something, anything and that's good even if its just such a small scale distraction.

I only wished she was more involved in the Novigrad story like how Yen was on Skellige.

Yeah, but i think they had to make the Yennefer appearance abit more strong, atleast if you are a player of all 3 games. Then you already know Triss and have been through stuff with her. This was our first taste of Yennefer. We needed to understand their past relationship and how they connect with Ciri and what it all means. Like i said earlier they really did great character work here. Because even though i prefer Triss, they still made me care about Yen. That beeing said i really wanted more screentime for Triss, Dandelion and Zoltan. That is the trio i bonded with, and was together through each game.

It's more about personality than pragmatism. I like people who poke and prod with sarcastic remarks because I happen to do it myself, which Yennefer provides in spades. She does have a soft and genuine side, it's just not on display for everyone -- sometimes including the very people she deeply cares for -- to see. Plus, I'm a sucker for ivory skin and raven hair. I suppose that and their similar personality traits is why Morrigan, Miranda Lawson and Yennefer are my romances of choice in Dragon Age, Mass Effect and The Witcher, respectively.

Our tastes just seem to be diametrically opposed, but that's okay. Different strokes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that shit.

I like that the outcome of that is very hard to make.

I would really like to see the person who did the deed and then walked away after the fact instead of fighting.

Personally I found it all very much amusing. When TW3 came out I thought the choice would be something similar to many of the political choices in TW2 where each side would make some argument about why you should pick them and then you would go ahead and pick your favorite side and aid them in a quest where you fight the other. Hell I actually expected that in order to win the war for Nilfgaard I would need to kill Roche and maybe even Siegfried if CDPR had implemented him ( and who I care for a lot as a character ), but to quote Dandelion: Fate once again proved a consummate trickster.

Replace fate with CDPR and you get the point. Well played. I'm sure all those moralists out there who came in TW3 thinking they'll trash the invader and teach the "evil" Nilfgaardians a lesson in humility had the rug swept from under their feet when the decision came.

Spoiler

Finished the game.

Spoiler

It's been over seven years since TW1 came out and I was highly skeptical CDPR would deliver on the story in an open world game this size where they made a point to focus on Geralt's personal story since I didn't give two shits about Geralt and those closest to him in TW2 where they shoved Dandelion, Zoltan and Triss down my throat and expected me to care without anything more. It was fine in TW1 but there I could mold Geralt, choose who he cared or didn't care about and to what level, they destroyed that in TW2.

I can't say I care greatly about those characters or Yennefer, though I did like the conclusion of the Triss romance whereas Yennefer can bugger off for all I care, but Ciri? I went through hell and back to find that girl and put her on the throne she deserved and of all the monarchs I've met in these games and in most video games, books and even many historical figures she is one of the most deserving to lead a nation as strong, courageous, intelligent, cunning woman and yet also kind and an idealist at heart.

"A simple human decency." Now excuse me if I go cry a bit, cried enough writing this.

A bloody fantastic ending to the trilogy.
