If they ever make a Witcher movie or a Witcher series on Netflix or something, I vote for Mads Mikkelsen to play Geralt of Rivia. Inmy opinion he is the perfect choice. Especially since there is already a movie talks in pre-production.

He looks badass, weird, and yet can look nice when he wants to. There's something captivating about Mads Mikkelsen, something almost not human that is perfect for a Witcher.

Either him of Viggo Mortensen but that would be awkward since he is known as Aragorn.

Who would you folks cast as Triss, Ciri and Yennefer ?

Jessica Chastain sounds good but the rest are terrible choices. Mila and Seyfried ? F**k no.

Anywho, about to go to Velen in my 2nd playthrough. I think I might rush straight to Oxenfurt to the Barbers lol, because Geralt without the beard and default hair, he just looks like he's encountered the worst smell that a Witcher could endure.

Eh, I found what CDP did with Letho was fine tbh. They didn't even need to do anything with him in the first place since he can very well be dead right off the bat. Already addressed Radoid, as for Anais. It's a double edged sword. She COULD have been important in one part of the game, but it's no different then Adda dropping off the face of the earth either. However outside this small part I just can't see her really mattering as CDP made it clear they wanted to focus on Radovid, Tameria guerrilla group, Emyhr and another faction I won't mention right now.

I just see her as another cut character victim like Shani, Adda, Saskia ect Not the first time CDP has dropped/forgotten something either. Should I remind everyone how the witcher who tried to kill Foltest TW2 was outright ignored/forgotten? Or the fact that Zoltan seems to be buddy buddy if you sided with the Blooming Rose? Guess I'm not bummed out because I suspected this.

Read that in his voice, damn you.

At least I'm quite away of from meeting Triss in this playthrough, so I'll be able to get that out of my head then haha!

Mads Mikkelsen would be awesome. His work in Danish films are extraordinary, plus Hannibal is amazing. He also looks the part.

The rest i am not sure about, are we talking a full European cast? Or can we introduce Hollywood Actors aswell?

Both are fine. I am not one to shoehorn diversity or what have you. Prefer to have the best actors and actress and if they look a lot like the original characters, its a plus. Mads Mikkelesen just look like Geralt's twin in that picture.

He's furios at how CDPR handled Letho, Radovid and Anais. Hasn't played the game yet but has read and watched vids.[/size]

Who are you anyway? I don't believe I remember you.

Don't think you will remember me, I posted very little at the time, but I remember you and kop in Loghain's thread, the endless discussion about Loghain in other threads and in the Witcher threads too.

Finished the game after a little bit more than 100 hours and wow... what a bad ending. 95% of the main story was fantastic and then such a underwhelming ending Really disappointed now and definitely no interest to go back and do the missing sidequests. Though I will probably start a second playthrought soon.

While playing the game I didn't find a single aspect in which this game didn't heavily outclass Dragon Age and then CDP pulls out such a crappy ending. The ending and non-quest character interaction is something Inqusition did much much better. Why could I barely talk to any of the characters ouside of quests? Zoltan had one line during the whole game, Dandelion 2. Yennefer 2 or 3. Triss didnt have any conversation option after Novigrad.Even Ciri had only 3-4 dialogue options after Geralt found her. And after finishing the story, they are all gone. Why should I continue doing quests when all the characters which are important for Geralt are gone adn the world feels completely empty because of this? What a huge letdown.

The other big disappointment is the portrayal of the Wild Hunt and the complete lack of interaction with Eredin. (and his portrayal)

Really expected more from CDP than the bioware-like evil for the sake of being evil treatment of the main villains (and yes I know they technically do it because their world is dying, but that is very poorly described and I didn't have the feeling it played a role for the actions of Eredin)

There are also some minor things I didn't like:

- inventory is a mess

- a lot of clipping issues

- Skellige political questline was weak. Especially in comparison to the complex politics of Witcher 2.

- sex scenes are very underwhelming. Except for Yennefer all scenes share the same models and mostly the same animations and no full frontal nudity like in Witcher 2. (though there is much more nudity  in general than in the previous game, so I don't think they made the  game more "politically correct")

- too many pointless treasures in Skellige. I'm a completionist and it's a pain for me to do all the ? symbols in the ocean around the skellige islands.Reminds me of Assassins Creed Black Flag,

- game is too easy after some time, even on the highest difficulty

- not explained what Geralt did while he was a Rider of the Hunt

- most decisions from Witcher 2 were ignored, Iorveth and Saskia weren't even mentioned

Aside from this points the game was fantastic.

The world was darker and grittier than ever before.

The mainstory was touching and excellently written full of memorable moments,

Excellent writing in general, especially the characters. Great sidequests with almost all of them having some kind of choice. Barely any black/white choices. A lot of interesting little stories.

Very good combat (very satisfying on Death March)

Music is the best I have ever heard in the game and very good voice acting in english (german rather sucked, tried it but characters like Keira Metz or the Bloody Baron lost a lot of their awesomeness without their excellent english voices)

Ciri part's were fun and I liked to exerience the story from her perspective

Overall all i was the best gaming experience I ever had and I cannot wait for the expansions, my second playthrought and mods, though I'm currently still very disappointed because of the ending.

He certainly showed what he was capable of in Vinterberg's Jagten -- Anything else he's done has been rather meh.. his brother Lars is the better actor the way I see it.

I generally avoid danish movies (because so many of them suck) but I agree on Jagten. I think both him and Lars generally do well in other movies I've seen them in though. I can't really compare it.

The best Danish films are the one's that try not to play it safe, which usually means they won't do so well at box office - thus we are left mostly with "Far til Fire" rather than something with actual heart and a lot to talk about - Dogme film have a share of excellent film going for it - People can say what they will about Peter Aalbeck & Von Trier, but they've produced some of the best film in Danish Cinema of recent years from my point of view. There's actually been a lot of promising stuff lately -- a lot of indie titles that challenges the attention span a bit.

Anyway, in relations to the Witcher - I suppose the brutality of Nicholas Refn's film Valhalla, starring Mads, comes close to something akin to the Witcher where I could see it making sense, certainly.

Actually i think he means that the last few hours of the game weren't the same high quality as the rest of it. And i agree. It was abit slow paced and lack of a better word, boring. The ending in my opinion was satisfying. The game had a few rough spots in its last hours though. Nothing is perfect.

If you got a bad ending, then that's your fault for making bad choices.
