The Isle of mist scene is just a masterpiece of visual storytelling for me.

Spoiler

The scene was powerful and emotional.

The fact that this isn't on the OST is a crime, tbh.

Easily the most emotional moment in the game thus far occurred soon after.

Really?

Nerded out hard over the weekend while girlfriend went to her cousins high school graduation and got to play/finish TW3 finally last night. Great 5-ish days. Wow this game was really good. Probably the most memorable/best game I've played since Ocarina of Time. I was just sad I couldn't find/hear about Saskia :(

Gwent is addicting. I'd rather play that over Hearthstone on my phone. Travelling through the worlds was neat. I was hoping we would get a mini preview of Cyberpunk  world when Ciri mentioned the futuristic world with the synthetics/flying cars.

Blood of Elves through to Lady of the Lake is one big story arc, with Lady of the Lake being the finale. And sets us up to the first Witcher game in a way.

Thank you! That is what I was wondering.  So I guess I'm 50% through that story arch but so far it is a good one! And I did pull the fan translations already and they have been good so far.  I'm a little shocked that even today the entire series hasn't been translated to English yet officially but when they come out I'll be buying them!

The last two books have dates for 2016 and 2017. Sword of Destiny (second short story collection and has the story where we first meet Ciri) just got the official translation last month I believe.

So, I've landed on Ard Skellig. How long before I find Ciri? This chase is starting to annoy me.

#TeamTriss would have won my membership if it weren't for the fact that she took advantage of me when all I needed was a dear friend. And not that kind.

She's also terrible, but still.

Checked the Xbox One game hub for The Witcher 3, it apparently tracks playtime(dunno if it counts main menu and such things). Whatever the case I think it says I've logged 159 hours or so on the game, more than anyone on my friends list so far.

I haven't been to Skellige yet.

160 hours and you haven't been to Skellig yet? I mean, I know I left a couple of quests back on Velen/Novigrad but not that many. Perhaps I just didn't find every quest. Where are you at on the main story?

Just rescued Dandy in Novigrad. I'm almost level 19. Lemme point out that if I'm on horseback, I'm usually trotting to my destination instead of cantering or galloping(will do so to evade enemies I don't want to fight), and I like to walk to my locations sometimes rather than run(though I'll fast travel if I can't be assed or if the location is too far).

Speaking of which, anyone else find themselves doing this a lot during the final boss fight? Whole thing was a bit underwhelming and you're doing pretty much no damage, but it made it look badass as hell. :S

Yeah, I unlocked the light attack ultra-move but there was very little use of it. Most skilled fighters can block while weaker enemies tend to die before you even finish the combo.

Still looks cool though.

I don't understand Gwent and got beat the 3 times I played it.  So I stopped trying  :(

@LP  you still have so far to go in the story!  I did a lot like you though, walked around in the towns instead of running and rarely rode the horse.  When I did I did the slow run.

So Gamespot rated this game 10/10. Their retard rating of most games 8/10 and 9/10 busted them in the process and forced them to rate it 10/10!

and...christ, talk about bittersweet. Sticking with the other ending, which I prefer, but that was beautiful. That soundtrack too. The tone of all the endings is so drastically different. :S

I think the most oddly beautiful moment in this game is when you're looking for the guy's brother's dead body on the battlefield, only to find him settled down having a friendly chat with a Nilfgaardian soldier who survived the battle. Two enemies just exhausted and striking up a friendship. I love these seemingly run of the mill sidequests ending up being so great

Really?

Spoiler

That whole questline was also fantastic but the one I linked just hit different emotional cues and really got me in a different way. It was more personal to Geralt and felt like it carried more weight.

Plus, the fact that there's relief at the end really cinched it.

Agreed. It was a really poignant moment that illustrated the futility and waste of the war in general.
