Speaking of crowns, there is an easy to way gain a boatload of money in a short amount of time by gaming the market in Novigrod. You can buy seashells from one of the merchants there cheap. You then dismantle those for the pearls, and sell the pearls to to the loan shark for much more than you paid for the shells. You then buy all off the florens and such that the loan shark has, and run those over to Vivaldi and exchange them for crowns. It nets a ridiculous amount of profit.

Also the merchants restock every time you talk to them, so you can rinse & repeat a couple times to speed up the process. I did it for about an hour maybe with Geralt and have like 40,000 crowns. I don't even bother with looting and selling stuff I don't need.

Playing an RPG without obsessively looting everything in sight and selling it? Are you mad?

I still loot some armor and alchemy mats, but not the garbage hachets and stuff that bandits drop. A lot of trash in crates in ignore also.

Finally purchased TW3. I'll download it just as soon as my new rig gets here.

My current one would probably explode trying to use it.

Have they revealed what the next free DLC is? Wouldn't mind getting an alternate look for Triss too since Yennefer got one. And that Nilfgaardian armor set looks great for questing around Novigrad and Oxenfurt, a bit too fancy for trudging through the swamps, mud and decaying corpses in Velen though.

The mastercraft Ursine armor is by far the best looking, from what i've seen.

I'm playing on Blood & Broken Bones, and went almost full into alchemy, with a minor Yrden and Axii upgrade here and there

The alchemy in Witcher 3 starts out so weak that it's worse than either of the earlier games, but it does slowly ascend into godhood.

The Superior tier stuff is tough to craft, the ingredients are both pricey and rare, but my Geralt is rolling in crowns. Soon I'll have my Superior Swallow, that doesn't stop regenning after an attack unlike the lesser versions. He shall become the ultimate drug tank

I have a ton of superior stuff since I'm fairly far in the game.  One I've not found at all in its basic form (that is bugging the hell out of me)?  Golden Oriole.  I like to meander around and find these things organically but so far that one has eluded me.  I've only put two points into the alchemy tree.  I've really spent all my points on aard,  and igni offensively, a moderate amount on quen to make my shield strong and some in the basic axii to compel people to see things my way.  Nothing on Yrden.  I've also spent some points on fast attacks and some defensive abilities (like the one that uses adrenaline points if you run out of vitality).  But aard is my bread and butter.  I like to hit hordes with the aard and hit them  with fast attacks (because I'm wearing mastercrafted cat armor which gives me all these criticals) and dodge out Honestly in TW2, I played it much more straight melee fighter.  If my Xbox still worked I think I would pop it back in to see if I play Geralt the same way I'm playing him today.

I think I need to go around some of those beginning areas of Velen more thoroughly, see if Golden Oriole is there.  Not having it is bugging me. I'm also to the point where crowns are not an issue. So if some jackhole has a map to finding it, I'll find him and buy it.  LOL.

I just got out of Kaer Morhen and

Wait... am I already near the end of the campaign? I was hoping there was more to the plot than just
Spoiler

No not near the end, over the half way point sure but there are hours and hours left in the main story.  When you start the Brothers in Arms part of the story you are maybe 65%-70% into the main story.  Depends on how much you've already done, like I helped out Roche and Ves before I got to the brothers quest so I just walked up to them and asked for help where if you didn't you need to help Ves out first before you can recruit them.  And if there is no ruler yet in Skellige then you need to go through the entire quest chain there before you get help from

Spoiler

Then after the fight you go through a few zones and many quests in each. So it depends on how much you've done outside the main quest chain.

Do tell where, pls.

Or maybe I already found it and i don't remember.

I found it in Freya's Garden during the main quest.

Another thing some people seem to miss  money-related, there's a dude who buys monster trophies for full-price in Novigrad.

The most beautiful thing about Ursine Armour is the fact that Geralt's hair doesn't clip through it at all, it just gathers up in the collar nicely. I was impressed.

Anyway so the tutorial was enjoyable. Short, sweet and to the point, it never overstayed its welcome nor did it bore me with pointless text.

In fact, I think I would have actually preferred it to be longer, the Keep did have a huge nostalgia factor.

In comparison to the first and second I'd say it's miles beyond the first and on par with the second (but for different reasons.) It eases you in nicely whilst still keeping to the general overtones of the franchise.

Plus, giving us an introduction to Vesemir again is important; we haven't seen the dude in years.

Cinematics were gorgeous, the animations were on point and I have to hand it to them since the facial expressions have gone so far ahead to the usual stoic, stiff-jaw impressions we got in the last two games.

Even on my 660 and on low settings the game still looked great, but I guess those more in the loop with graphical details and such would have far better insight to whatever I would spew. Still, what I see as important is all there. Even being just a tutorial the Keep was designed to a great level of detail.

It's why I wished the tutorial was longer, so I could see more of it.

I've already taken a liking to Ciri, and it's funny since I'm sort of indifferent towards her in the books. I guess a voice actor does wonders, no? Geralt's voice actor has gone a loooooong way since the Witcher one and the improvements are there. It sort of reminds me of Mark Meer's Shepard. Say what you want about Mass Effect 3, his voice acting was brilliant in that game.

I have problems with the dodge button being on alt, it kind of makes things awkward for me and the whole 'press shift + mouse left' for a strong strike took me ages to master.

But that's just me sucking.

So yeah, the usual. The Witcher never fails to impress.

P.S

Holy hot in fcuking hell has Geralt gone overboard in sexy.

Oh dear, the things the city of Novigrad will do to your PC will have you and the computer take mutual therapy sessions

Though tbh, I am running the game with a GTX 560Ti, I might be even worse

So, I made it through the part after, what I guess you could call act 1. Had a little help from some friends:

Spoiler

Anyway, can someone enlighten me here?
Spoiler

Last thing before I sign off: after the moments I refered in spoilers, how much main quest is there left roughly? There are still a couple of points I was hoping would become part of the plot that hasn't been yet, so I'm hoping it's not just straight to the finish line from here.

It's been leaked that next week's DLC will include a quest entitled Fool's Gold and a Gwent set.

Merchant : I remember when I met for the first time the famed Geralt of a Rivia. He ran into me (literally). Sadly he seemed to have some trouble with his movement. He was trying to align himself with a ladder next to me.. it was a sight to behold.

Than he he started to loot every of my box that I filled with Dwarven alcool. But I am bright. My most prized box was next to a candle. Geralt of Rivia had trouble with this one. My plan did work and Geralt gave up. My candle defeated him.

Than he bumped into me again. I sighed. Than he asked me something only the Famed witcher could ask. Do you wanna play Gwent ? I heard about his travel around the world. Defeating every merchant for their card. Bastard. I had to give him my prized Nekker Card.

Has he started to run away while bumping into every villagers he could. I sighted. I met Geralt of Rivia. The famed Witcher that stole my card and pillaged every of my alcool filled box. All , but one. Went to purchase more candle..
