I'm not even sure how people are connecting those two things exclusively to the United States.
Regarding the whole gamer gate turn the thread took, I do find it somewhat amusing that here Europeans are bashing Americans for attempting to force liberal values on them, when usually European anti-Americanism is focused on bashing Americans for not being liberal enough. What a twist.
Europeans should shut up about America, we took down Sepp Blatter you ungrateful jerks, USA USA USA!

The face she did when Geralt told her the magic was over was priceless! And I laughed do hardwhen he told her "you got what you wished".

Gwent is just infuriating. I keep losing because the opponents have OP cards. Whenever I do win cards from merchants, I get absolute **** cards like weather cards or 1-4 power cards. I'm sorry but I'm not gonna go out my way of other quests to collect stupid and downright garbage gwent cards like this.
Gwent is the best mini-game ever.

Why do you have 4 powercards inside your deck, bro?
That is the same face Triss makes when Geralt kisses Yennefer in front of her.
That scene was top kek.

You have to do the quest chain when Geralt plays his friends. Some of the best cards are held by people like Zoltan. If I remember correctly that chain gets you the Geralt and Ciri cards, both of which are worth 15 points.

It is actually a good mini-game, but the fact that the AI has OP cards to win instead of actually using strategy is BS.

Because I can't get any better cards, bro.

Which one is that and how do I start it?

The trick with the AI is to cause them to use all their cards up in one round. Especially at first when you don't got alot of good cards.
Just sacrifice one round and you can win most of the time.

yeah its my main strategy but the AI has enough OP cards to last 2 solid rounds with 10 power cards with special abilities.
Most of my early gwent victories came with the help of the siegemaster Foltest leader card, which is worth it's weight in gold.
Which one is that and how do I start it?
Zoltan starts it. One of the dialogue options with him is challenging him to play gwent. After you beat him he then suggests another person to play and it kicks off a short quest chain.
You have to have a fairly decent deck before that though, as Zoltan has a few hero cards. Completing all the quests is the way to go in impoving the deck though. The best high value cards are mostly gained through quest rewards.
Foltest, your love for siege warfare shall never be forgotten.
I never seem to finish games as quickly as some here, so I just got to Novigrad yesterday and did the initial encounters with Menge and Triss. Anyway, I have a question that I was wondering if someone would be willing to answer in not-too-specific terms - are the Scoi'atel going to be much of a factor at any point, and will Geralt end up siding definitely for or against nonhumans?
The reason I ask is that I took the monster-hunting contract from the Redanian commander where it turns out his people were killed by Scoi'atel raiders. While I've been playing Geralt as sympathetic to non-humans in general and sometimes to the Scoi'atel (I helped them defeat the Order in TW1 and did Iorveth's path in TW2), I tried to deflect the Scoi'atel scout's question by claiming I was "just out for a stroll," at which point he said something like "I don't find you amusing" and they all attacked me. However, when I told the Redanian commander what happened, he said they were going to hang some people in retaliation and Geralt seemed to approve - it wasn't clear if the commander meant nonhumans in general or specifically Scoi'atel members, but either way it wasn't something I wanted to support.
I then reloaded and just walked past the commander without telling him anything, figuring maybe Geralt anticipates that telling him what happened would inflame the situation (which I was afraid of even before I saw how the quest ended). However, are further encounters with the Scoi'atel going to force me into a similar "with them or against them" stance where Geralt ends up voicing whole-hearted approval or disapproval of either the Scoi'atel's actions or the reprisals against them?
Never played the first games, can you enjoy this one?
I mean, I played and loved Bioshock Infinite, then picked up the other 2 for 360

No, they're not and no, he won't. There are some decisions that carry certain implications with them but there's nothing really definitive in terms of the whole nonhuman conflict.
Never played the first games, can you enjoy this one?
Yes, you can. It serves as a pretty decent introduction into the world and has a useful in-game encyclopaedia for characters and the like that you meet that can help fill in the blanks.

They have a very small role.
