Anyways, finished Playthrough #2 and enjoyed it a great deal. Questioning whether to bother with all the "?" spots or switch to another game instead. Brawling was a bit on the tedious side since most involved the same tactic, but most of the Contracts made for nice surprises.

Literally the exact same ending as you. Very content with it, it's basically the conclusion I wanted for these characters.

I did that Botchling quest and god was it good.

It just oozed of the Last Wish.

Gonna wrap up the Baron's story now.

House was right.

He's a great character.

What did the note say?

I had Geralt do the Jedi mind trick on him and his two helpers instead. Speaking of which, I'm now sad there was no "I am not the Witcher you are looking for" dialogue while using Axii.

basically, it was his account to Maid Billberry or whatever her name was, of his time in Velen, and Novigrad, and how he basically harassed anyone who showed open displays of affection to their loves (generally men trying to swoon women, by saying sweet nothings to them.) he basically saw this as a offense because of course no other woman could be as beautiful, kind, ect ect ect as the Fair Maid Bilberry, or was it Milberry, anyway he harassed one guy to the point that the guy fled while all he was trying to do was talk up some girl.

Yeah I was disappointed with Radovid too, turning him into a silly madman just reeked of Bioware writing (Orsino, Meredith anyone?)
Thankfully this Radovid doesn't have a big role in the game

It was foreshadowed in the books. And in TW2 as well. They may have overexaggerated it a bit, but I actually found him believable.

He is, after all, the one that in certain endings of TW2 starts the Witch Hunt immediately, and in others, he just orders some of the mages dead.

From "The Lady of the Lake" (rough translation from Polish):

No one would shout "Long Live Radowid!" thought the prince, covered by hierarch's fat arse. No one would even glance in my direction. No one would cheer for my mother. No one would remember my father or shout about his glory. Today, the victory day, the day of the agreement, of the alliance, that my father had a large part in. He was after all murdered because of it.

He felt a stare at the base of his neck. Delicate, as something he didn't know, or he knew only from his fantasies. Something like the soft touch of woman's hot lips. He turned his head around. He saw dark, bottomless eyes of Filippa Eilhart.

Just you wait, thought the prince, turning his eyes away. Just you wait.

No one could predict then, or guess, that this thirteen year old boy, a person of no importance, from the country ruled by Dijkstra and the Regency Council, a king would grow. A king, who after he repays everyone for the despects they gave him and his mother, would be remembered in history as Radovid V The Stern.

It's important to notice, that this man is 20 years old. He is far younger than Foltest was. Or Henselt. Or Emhyr.

Tell me of 20 year old people, who fight hundreds of internal and external enemies and are caught into a war with the most powerful ruler on the Continent, that wouldn't go a little crazy.

And judging from the fragment I just quoted, he was already ambitious, frustrated and potentially cruel when he was 13.

As to his hatred for mages (and Filippa in particular): Filippa ruled his kingdom in his place for years, she had a hand (at least) in killing his father, she tried to assassinate one of the men most loyal to his father (Dijkstra), and had a part in killing Demawend and Foltest...

It was far more than just: "She was mean to me!".

4 million in 2 weeks? Good for them :)

I hope that bodes well for Cyberpunk and doesn't go to their heads so they start getting so mainstream that they just become another lousy AAA publisher. They kind of slipped with their DLC principles by making a season pass this time (yeah I know it's called expansion pass, nice try) but they still have those 16 on-disc or ready-and-waiting-on-CDPRs-servers-at-launch free DLCs but its a good message and at least it gives you the illusion that you're getting new content that was made after the game was released for free.

But I digress. I think Witcher 3 proved to me that CDPR isn't that untouchable moral and righteous example that could do no wrong because of the downgrade, the lies that followed, the DLC reluctance -> Season pass bandwagon, but despite that it still ended up setting a really high standard that makes the likes of Ubisoft cower in shame.

I hope Cyberpunk is gonna be good and I hope Witcher 3's massive success is only an upside to whatever they make next and not a means to doing bad business practices to sell us by-the-numbers products.

I hope they make all the money they can.

CDPR have poured their hearts into this franchise and deserve every penny they get.

I am more curious about how it did on the pc. Both The Witcher and The Witcher 2 actually had pretty good sales considering their pc exclusive/timed exclusive. I know that Xbox one and PS4 owners are hungry for new games, so probably huge sales bump there. Not that it isn't deserved, great game and one of the few games this last year i gladly paid 60 euros for.

I think TW3, right from the start marked the end of CDPR's pc-oriented focus. They said targeting consoles made TW3 possible in the first place and I think considering how succesful especially PS4 is, they're just gonna be more and more about consoles from here on, like so many other devs.

4 Million in 2 weeks is a mental number. Glad to hear it doing well and hopefully it will keep up and allow them to create more awesome stuff in the future
