So that they could kick each others arse again.
Its like Scrooge Mcduck vs. Flintheart Glomgold with these two.

CDPR does not know its own lore! =P
But i do remember that he said he defeated Redania, Kadwen and Aedirn, but he didnt defeat the Temeria one, AKA Vernon Roche.
They are lillies from Temerian Commanders. Roche was simply the only unit still actively opposing him, which he wanted his as well to add to the collection. ![]()
Ah, this reminds me of the most head scratching moment in TW2.
...why the hell did Roche/Iorveth spare the other? Iorveth made more sense, as a grudging respect and a way of mocking Roche, but Roche sparing Iorveth? Wut.
Ahahah! It actually didn't make much sense.
Roche basically goes right from the beginning: "That wh*reson! I'm gonna kill him!"
And then after winning duel: "I'm not gonna kill you because blah blah blah reasons!"
Later in Kaedweni camp: "Iorveth is here!!!? GOod, I can finally kill him!"
Yeah, it's a bit of an oversight.

I remember him saying he didnt defeated the Blue Stripe commander, but I'm too lazy to find this piece of dialogue.

Some off-topic.
Did you guys notice all the sword diagrams for levels waaaaaaay over what you can achieve in-game? I hit level 35 with all the sidequests, contracts etc. done and had to use dev console to give myself some experience to try 37 level swords. One is called Harpy, the other Longclaw. Didn't use any guide to find them, just questing and exploring. They look pretty sweet to be honest and even though they have higher DPS, they aren't as OP as the witcher gear. The highest level weapon you can find is level 46. Fourty, freaking, six.
This smells of New Game+ to me and there are rumours it's gonna happen. Or maybe it's just some stuff to craft for when the expansion packs drop and we can go higher than level 35-37.
" Iorveth is not just an extremely skilled bowman but a swordsman as well. He defeated the commanders of all special forces of the North, except for the Blue Stripes captain Vernon Roche."

It seems I was right, CDPR didnt wanted to make different badges and reused the temerian one with different colors.

Yeah, and I recall that it's repeatedly mentioned in the game how Iorveth longs to add Roche's badge to his collection, as he is the last surviving commander of the anti-Scoia'tael units sent to hunt him down, but I as well am too lazy to hunt it down.

I hear ya. Got super pissed when I actually managed to find Longclaw, got super excited, only to witness that it is lvl 37.
But then again, it doesn't look unique at all, considering I have a Silver Sword that has the same design.

Should have had a white wolf's head as a hilt...

Yeah, I've noticed Longclaw looks the same as the sword Hattori gives you... which I frankly don't mind, cause I like the design. Harpy looks great too with the twin wolf heads pommel.
I reaaaaly hope they drop some Wolf School DLC in the future. It seems to freakin' weird not to have it - they had to come up with the Bear School to replace it, heh.

Yeah, but that is simply stating that he didn't kill the one that are hunting them, Blue Stripes. The wiki also states that he has massive murder count. Temerian commanders could easily be one of them, since he killed both soldiers and civilians.

There is a level 30/31 silver sword called Weeper. It's amazing and one of the best silver swords in the game no matter the rank. It does like 425 max damage and has a high critical hit chance. I crafted it right away when I reached 25, after I did the Master Swordsman Quest in Novigrad with Hitori.
Correction it does 451 max damage, (When used with Rend and Sunder Armor in combat skill set, it's awesome) and it does require level 31. But if you do many quests and most of the Witcher contracts this can be accomplished before you leave Novigrad the second time after Battle Preparations. This Sword and paired with Ursine or Feline Master Crafted Witcher Gear made Death March a walk in the park for me the rest of the game. Very OP.

To all Roche haters and Iorveth lovers:
Its a joke ppl
You all should know that Iorveth will never reach this Bro level:
For Temeria!

I'd make Roche's path my canon path, but then that means I never get to cure Saskia.
Ah screw it, Roche bro for life. Do feel bad that the only reason I bumped into him in this playthrough I'm doing so, was to just get a Gwent card lol. But I'll make sure to stand by him against everything.
For Temeria, you say, while wearing Redenian armor.
That's called disguise! If you want to get near Radovid you dont wear temerian clothes.
Doesn't that depend on who you side with the first time - so Roche captures Iroveth?
No, they fought a 1v1 fight in the woods, you control the one who you choose to support.
for Roche to capture Iorveth you need to wallop him and help Roche when the fight Blue Stipe vs Scoia'tel start.

Spoiler
I can't wait to meet Vernon Broche and give him a bro hug only my Bro irl would get.
The Baron has better characterization than Emhyr, Radovid and Eredin.

Agreed. Even playing the questline a second time just a few days after and i was just stunned by it. The writing, the voice acting, the music. Every scene with him had such a impact. Probably the best part of the game, or Kaer Morhen.
Iorveth has only one eye and he still wins a duel with Roche, blaaaaaaaaaaa ![]()
The Bloody Baron is honestly just one of the most well written characters I've encountered in a game for years, tbh
This.
I think all the quests relating to him and the Croockback Bog were the best part of the game.
