Fabulous. Signs have completely stopped working, as in "You cannot do that now" and "This action isn't allowed during combat" not working. Apparently it's a recent patch bug.

I came across a similar bug in my second playthrough. Could only use Igni, but my crossbow did 900+ damage.

Pretty frustrating, especially after waiting for CDPR to fix the XP bug.

It was. I loaded a previous save and it was gone, but I have no idea what caused it.

Yeah, I had a bug where I couldn't meditate. Reloading fixed it as well.

Ahem, Dandelion would have to correct you, sir, it's a gentleman's club, not a brothel. :S

Exact same ending as you, except with Yennefer rather than Triss.

Agreed about the last bit tho. At least there were plenty of hugs to compensate.

That line is the best one in the game. I broke down at that moment.

Pretty much everyone I've talked has agreed the first act is much stronger than the second act. It really falls apart, but it begins to make sense if you look at the files and see that they cut out a lot of the second half of the game.

"The strange thing about Iorveth was that he was meant to be in the game. CDPR had worked on a model and written entries about him and Isengrim Faoiltiarna for the Prima guide. The first time Geralt was meant to see him was in a basement of a house in the non-human district of Novigrad. The leaked docs from May 2014 also mentioned him playing his flute, like during the into scene at Flotsam in TW2.
Why he was cut remains unknown. They also cut a few quests from the main plot, which might be the reason the third act feels so rushed."

- Taken from a random reddit comment; make of that what you will but it does seem like this random dialogue correlates with the original story design due to the mentions of Novigrad and Isengrim. If so then it was possibly an oversight that lead to this dialogue still being in the final game.

I'm talking about cut content here, I don't see why that would bother anyone, but I can imagine it might. So just a heads up if you haven't beaten it.

Yeah they cut out a huge chunk of act 3. Massive story points like the wild hunt attacking Novigrad were removed from the game, as well as things like tracking the wild hunt generals which I think would've given some much needed characterization to the hunt. As it stands, Caranthir is basically faceless, he might have ten lines of dialog in the entire game. It also seems like Ge'els might have originally been an enemy.

Obviously Iorveth was also removed entirely from the game. I don't want to sound cynical (even though I am) but I can't help but think he was cut to be saved as a selling point for DLC. They seem like they might be doing that with Shani as well. Which just seems low to me, I can be okay with a character getting the short end of the stick and having minimal content (EG Liara in ME2) then getting a DLC which makes them bigger. But having them removed entirely from the game and then having them show up in DLC seems shady. Especially with Iorveth since we know for a fact he was originally going to play a big role in the Main Story. Or at least a Roche sized roll in it.

Well, they loss a great scene, Iorveth on Kaer Morhen and Eredin tries to recruit him and that shows why he has changed too, once he would accept(that think about elves and whatever), not now.

Triss for me, they cut some content from her too, it's not possible.

I much prefer second and third act when it comes to the story. The first act is just hunting for Ciri, doing side quests and getting to know the world and characters.

I enjoyed pretty much everything what happened after Battle of Kear Morhen (although I agree that it as excellent - both the battle and what happens after). Bald Mountain was great. I loved Philippa in this game and all quests involving her (including of course Reason of State, as well as hunting for the Sun Stone with her). Journey with Avallac'h was great - there was a scene that send shivers down my spine there, and the effort and creativity that went into designing other worlds impressed me. And I enjoyed immensely both the battle with Caranthir and the final duel. But I have to agree, that Eredin should have been developed far more - there was place for it in both Battle of Kear Morhen as well as before the final duel. I would consider it the worst flaw in otherwise great story.

Roche/Ves were already just about to attack Letho. Imagine the 4 of them in the same place. Wild Hunt doesn't stand a chance next to that much built up tension.

Like I said, if you got Roche, Iorveth, and Letho all to Kaer Morhen the wild hunt wouldn't attack because it would be too awkward. The hate they'd be glaring at one another could be focused into a death ray and used to shoot down their ship.
