Finished this monster for second time today, and boy what an amazing journey, loved every bit.

There's a new witcher in town, meanwhile, Geralt and Yen are doing nothing at their cozy and lovely but, I can perfect live with that!!

That play is one of the best things I've seen in a game ever.

And I've played FF7 and FF9.

If only Yarpen could make fun of us more.

And Geralt enjoyed himself waaay too much.

So 42 hours clocked and I'm just ABOUT to head to Skellige before doing bits and bobs here and there.

That's some good game-time right there, man.

I hope Skellige isn't rushed, I heard you get to pick a new lord there so I hope it's really political.

On the political side or on the narrative side?

I don't mind it not being political.

But I do mind it not being a well told story.

Anyway.

I hope to find good trousers there.

These Assassin's trousers do not go with what I'm wearing.

It's a fashion crime.

Your choice in Skellige depends on whether you believe they need to evolve as a society to be prosperous. That's pretty much it. You'll be provided with the proper context as you progress through that subplot. The game will make it clear who you should "pick" if you think they need to change.

I hope it's Obama then.

Anyway.

Helped Dandelion.

"No... not the Crimson Avenger!"

Though so far I prefer the Witcher 2 by a fair bit, this game has so much great stuff on the side xD

That Assassin's armour comes straight out of Mass Effect One.

Yeah, that scene is great.

Made it funnier for me because I was laughing while I facepalmed at Dandelion's remarks, then I laughed even more when I noticed that Geralt was facepalming as well in the background :D

Is there even an Assassin chestpiece in the game? I picked up a bunch of trousers, gloves and boots but never a chestpiece.

And if you're looking for a nice pair of non-Witcher set trousers, I like the Mahakaman Trousers together with the Cidarian Cavalry Armor. Can't remember what gloves and boots I used though.

Lmao yeah xD

Chuckled quite a bit when I saw Geralt doing the Squall facepalm.

I've avoided heavy armour so far since they look terrible on Geralt.

Witcher 2 had less variety but at least they all looked mint.

I really like the Temerian armor set that comes with the 16 pieces of free DLC. I wish it could be upgraded.

I am going to learn Gwent on my next playthrough of this game. Speaking of Gwent found this.

The Bear Armor looks decent (I personally wish the coat were not so long though.  It kind of looks like a dress)..  Doesn't have that "food baby" look that some of the armors wit metal chest plates have (Like the Griffin armor and lots of the heavy armor do).  If you  downloaded the DLCs, the Wolven medium armor looks good too  (I'm only level 25 on this PT, so I can't see what the superior version will look like for another 4 levels). I have a tendency to stick with light to medium armor though, as that tends to work better with my play style .  I like to zip in and out and hit you with flames or telekenetic blast and stabby stab.  LOL!

I spent most of yesterday playing Gwent - I didn't really bother with it at all my first play through.  Once you start getting good cards it makes the game a lot more fun.  The worst is playing people with monsters decks  when you have only the basic Northern Realms deck with no heroes or anything.  I can finally play Gwent with all four decks.  But oddly, my Northern Realms deck is still the one I win with the most.   My best tip is to not let the first round drag on if you see the other player putting up cards that double up their ranks, pass the round and conserve your cards.  Also, if you have any low point spy cards, play it immediately to get two more cards. Be on the look out for Mysterious Elf and Thaller cards.  the elf doesn't give your opponent any points at all. Thaller only one.

My second playthrough (one which I'll be trying to roleplay as best as I can given what the game gives you) will be for mods and stuff.

I bet instead of 45 hours in Velen I'll be 20 or even 18.

Heh.  Good luck with that. :)  I'm just as slow this PT!  In my mind I was all, "oh, I know what happens now, I can speed through and  make different choices for my personal head canon".  Lots of new stuff I missed the first PT.  For example, I ran into Letho in this play through.  Didn't run into him at all in the first game.  And I was very thorough.  I like to meander from hamlet to hamlet, find things organically, and I ran into Letho because this time I went to one place before another in my wanderings.  I won't give details so as to not spoiler it out for anyone who likes to stumble upon things like I do.  And CDPR keeps adding DLC content to keep you playing.  Like that Wolven Gear.  I love scavenger hunting for gear.  That's my jam.
