Learned today there are folks who refuse to use the fast travel system... why???

 

I can't wrap my head around that. I mean I find travel with their fast travel system a pain in the ass since I can't return to a settlement without first going to a waypoint. Actually travelling everywhere sounds like punishment.

Damn I hope Saskia/Ioverth get some love with an expansion. Maybe some Cynthia action too. Mostly Saskia.. if I'm honest tho. Finishing up Velen on my deathmarch run.. on to Skelliege(sp?) going to try and fill out a monsters deck for Gwent its the only one I've never really played, but with all the strong neutrals it is hard to make a bad deck imo.

 

But first.... NBA draft time.

First thing I do in this game is race the horse to all the points I think will have fast travel markers, only stopping for exclamation marks because sometimes those can be sensitive to failure. Once I get all those then I jump around the map doing all the side quests.

Seriously, the first thing I do in games like this with fast-travel points is hit every last one of them so I can get around hassle-free.

That ending slide is much better imo, can just picture Geralt regaling all the kids in Kovir of his exploits. Hahah.

Welp,  I've won the game and gotten all three major endings (can't say I've gotten every iteration since I made similar choices in my PTs, but I have gotten all three main endings).  I think of all the endings my personal favorite is still:

when Ciri becomes a Witcher. It just feels the most genuine to me in terms of my personal satisfaction and connection to all the games. I actually kind of like the Geralt/Crones ending too. It seems fittingly dark and depressing - even though Geralt assumes she is dead, we never see her body so she could still be "out there". Empress Ciri doesn't do it for me.  It just seems.. I don't know?  Something about Ciri being ruler of everything seems disingenuous to me.

 

Other than that.. not sure if I want to play again until more DLC comes out. 

 

Also - #TeamTriss.  Never has a broad annoyed me as much as Yennefer did.  Sure she is beautiful, but she is so insecure deep down that she has a wall of haughty so high it's nigh impossible to scale.

Team Yenn for life. Triss' relationship with Geralt is just...boring to me, frankly. Yenn's feels much more multi-faceted, very rocky, at times seeming downright antagonistic, but both of them do love and care about each other and narratively speaking I just like them always ending up back together.

 

Team Yenn also has a theme song.  

 

I also just like the fact that Geralt is not the one wearing the pants here. In fact, he's probably never even gotten to touch the pants. Or look at the pants. Or think about the pants. He probably doesn't even know what the pants are anymore.

And G&Y married anyway. I hope CDPR will release the wedding DLC as well! One can hope.

And I will do it now!" "And Ciri?" "What Ciri?" The girl witcher came out from behind Yennefer, smearing glamarye in the healthy part of her face. "Everything's all right, Geralt. It was just a stupid scratch, I didn't even feel it."

Narratively speaking yes, Yenn is more interesting since they have all their ups and downs and such. But Triss seems like a more healthy relationship in the end.

If I were to judge things purely on a physical level, it would be Yen 100% of the way. Pale brunettes are totally up my alley.

I often don't go for "healthy" (examples: Thane, Solas ), but having never read the books, Triss is who I thought of for Geralt. Not to mention, I finished out her storyline before even setting off to Skellige. *shrug* I do really like Triss, so I am happy with my Geralt's ending with her, but I do like Yen as well. If I do ever play again, I will try Yen's romance out. Probably won't happen until all the expansions are out though. Set protagonist games, I generally don't play more than one or two times. Just my preference though. Nothing more.

Both Triss and Yen are terrible choices, they have both manipulated Geralt in pretty devious ways, and Yen cheated on him and her appology was "I'm sorry, but I also don't feel bad about it.". So she's got that going for her.

I can never romance Triss. I believe Triss wanted the rose of remembrance to Saskia Geralt in TW2. I have no evidence just my gut feeling. I prefer Yen anyways she seems more of an equal than Triss.

Not true, Yenna never put Geralt or Ciri in danger even it might cost her life. As for Triss I would not dear to think she could do that.  As for Essi, I thinks she just changed name to Priscilla and found her happiness.

I don't get why the majority likes Yen more, i read the books and couldn't feel any sympathy to her. She is a total ****** and unworthy of attention. I guess everyone has different tastes, both are unique their way, but i think i will pass.

Geralt/Yen/Ciri family ftw. Better than Triss who views Ciri as her sister and I like Triss too but more as a family friend than Geralt's gf.
