For the uninformed, they increased all the level requirements for the Witcher sets because they increased the armour value for all of them, so they can match the Wolven gear.

Ah, I was wondering why the Wolven gear had initially such a high level requirement.

I guess that all the Witcher armors had the "wrong" requirements up until this patch.

I'm on my second game now (halfway through White Orchard) and Dandelion is starting to be annoying. I heard him less when I was binging the game at release with sessions of a few hours, but now that I take the game in smaller doses his monologues get old fast. I know the story, IMO I should be able to disable them, I'd rather have a normal loading screen.

Another thing I've noticed is that my level 1 Geralt plays pretty much the same as my level 36 Geralt, just without the bombs that I barely use. This is a recuring problem with Witcher games if you ask me, you mostly get numerical upgrade and potions but previous little new techniques that spice up combat.

Everything else is still really good however, so I'm not complaining overmuch.

Are you playing on a PC btw? You could use something like - http://www.nexusmods...cher3/mods/66/?if you are comfortable with mods that is.

This is sadly the issue that comes from playing a defined character. Since Geralt is a witcher no matter, CDP is restricted in what they can do. It's not like DAI where oyu are given alot of freedom in how you build your character and how you handle combat. Both have their pros and cons.

I kinda miss the group finishers. They were a pretty cool end-game perk that never failed to make Geralt feel a lot more badass than he was at the beginning of the game.

Some guy leaked the list of free DLC and if my memory serves me well he's been right about everything so far. Anyway finishers should be in the last DLC pack. I'm not sure I have the image on my computer but I'll check. Not sure why I'm talking to you like we're having a conversation but whatever it's 1:10 AM and I've not got my faculties at the moment.

I don't, but I do have this.

So, well there's that.

I'd love to see a world like that, it would just have to be handled by someone creative enough not to simply plunk down stereotypes and actually try and weave them together into a more cohesive framework that makes sense geographically and materially (Elder Scrolls have this problem, the climate tends to change dramatically whenever you cross a border and each province has jarringly distinctive styles and art, though on other points like varying but similar pantheons they do better...This is all aside from Tamriel simply being too small)

I'd love to see an antiquity themed setting in a game, as long as the creators remember that it is a fantasy game and adjust accordingly.

Though I'd probably be happy even with more medieval fantasy as long as it used something besides the tired old basis.

Actually, the amount of creativity needed isn’t that great, just good research-fu. The hybrid cultures and transitional stages are abundantly present in the historical and archaeological record.
Alas, in videogames they often try to combine things left and right without too much consideration of the cultural styles and the technologies involved. That’s when you get some of the more ridiculous JRPG stuff…and Orlais. That’s okay when you go for a non-serious, somewhat silly over the top* approach, not so much when immersion is the goal.

Jakub Szamalek, lead writer at CDPR, has a (Cambridge) doctorate in ancient archaeology and has actually written some historical crime novels (in Polish) that take place in ancient Athens and the Greek Black Sea colonies.
There are a few more of his kind at CDPR; Philipp Weber, a German quest designer there studied archaeology at Augsburg.

So who knows…I would totally dig an RPG 'inspired by' the Black Sea area during the heyday of the Persian Empire…Persians, Greeks, Scythians, Thracians…throw in some relevant supernatural elements (cult of Hecate, Zoroastrian priests, Scythian shamans) to add mystery, mounted combat and sex & violence & human sacrifice and political intrigue and warfare (including naval!) up the Wazoo…

Well, plenty of nerdgasm material  .

@RepHope: Yeah, it’s gonna be a looooong wait. When it comes to AAA fantasy cRPG’s, we’re heading for a dry spell once the last Witcher III DLC’s are out. Next Elder Scrolls probably in 2018-19, next Witcher / non-Witcher fantasy game by CDPR in, say, 2020?

To some extent InXile, Larian and Obsidian can fill the gap, but those are smaller-budget games and isometric.
We’ll also get a new DA game and a game set in the new BioWare IP Gaider et al are working on during this period, but BioWare is rather variable in quality so there’s no telling whether it'll be worth the wait. The same, unfortunately, probably applies to at least some of the isometric games.

So let’s hope that CDPR releases the next Redkit as soon as possible and that we get plenty of good Mods.

There’s one possibility that I hope gets realised, and that is that CDPR, with its new studio in Cracow and all, becomes a two-projects-at-once outfit. Meaning that a new game, or even a new IP, is developed parallel to Cyperpunk 2077. I get the impression EA BioWare is aiming for a three-projects-at-once / three-years-per-game / one game released per year cycle (using the DA, ME and the new IP). Larian seems to aim for something like this as well, albeit somewhat in the longer run.

Would be nice if CDPR goes for a ‘4 years dev time per game, 1 game released every two years’ cycle.

* Not that over the top and serious don’t mix – there’s nothing modest about the Egyptian or Meso-American pyramids, the Chinese Wall or Aztec and Shang Chinese human sacrifice. And don’t get me started on the really big ceremonies and feasts…

Uh, okay, our lord a saviour Jesus Christ was also a messenger. So, I mean I'm not saying I'm exactly like Jesus but we are both brown haired, got a rock solid six pack, and in 7th grade Holly said no to me asking her to the spring dance. That was basically a crucifixion. I feel your pain J-Dog.

From the official TW3 site: Heart of Stone will release in October while Blood and Wine is slated for first quarter of 2016.

At least that is for the release date. Haven't seen any new info on what exactly they will contain that we don't already know of (e.g. Shani is back).

It was the same for me, really never changed how I played the game no matter what lvl that I was which did take its toll towards the end of the game

I watched the "worst ending" again tonight on youtube.

For me, the worst ending is... the best. Cinematography, symbolism, dialogs, everything works. It's so painful I would have been sad beyond repair to get this ending in my playthrough.
