I dont see the problem.

DLC's and Expansion are totally different things in my mind.

Maybe its an age thing, i'm old enough to remember what actual expansions are.

DLC's are small things, items and adventures at most an hour long for most devs (and way overpriced).

Expansions and far far larger, usually the size of several DLC's. X-com Enemy Within and DA:Awakening are good examples of modern Expansions.

So of course i would expect to pay for expansions.

Speaking of establishing relationships with characters that Geralt already has. I'm seriously curious how they're going to make Yen seem appealing over Triss, Yen is the definition of an aquired taste, and Triss has been around for two games now. Obviously book Geralt would pick Yen, but I think most players will be more inclined to pick Triss.

Also I'm curious how they're going to establish Ciri as a daughter figure. I assume the bulk of new comers will have heard of the witcher and the GoT levels of sex in it and assume you can sleep with her.

I imagine those dream sequences we're hearing about will flesh out Geralt's relationship with Yenn and Ciri a bit.

they did a speedrun, skipping all the dialogues, folllowing the shortest road to places, only doing vital quests and such... took 25 hours for the quickest tester.

EDIT: HOLY ****! After all those yesrs finally all my games show under my pic - LOL! Took them some time XD that "3" is not so lonesome anymore!

I hope that isn't 200 hours of boring fetch quests or monster slaying.

I'm all for exploration, but like Skyrim, where there are countless buildings, cities, caves, fortresses and ruins to explore. Not like in DA:I, where it is giant overland maps with nothing much to do aside from kill baddies and grind loot.

I have been avoiding a lot info on Witcher 3. I had to checkout that trailer. Damn it has got me even more hype then before. I got Mortal Kombat X coming out Tuesday. Hopefully that can hold me over long enough before this game come out.

I never trust these numbers. If all devs are guilty of one thing, it's playing up the game time. I wouldn't even want to play a run that lasts 200 hours.

Witcher 3: Wind Waker, eh? Looks pretty cool.

I'd say they should just be confident in trying to make a good game, instead of being busy about how many hours they believe a game will lasts when it is at best superficial to the overall experience's quality.

I wouldn't either... but then again it happened to me by (happy) accident during FO:NV and every TES game to date, so we'll see how it plays out.

That trailer looks pretty magnificent. I'm not the biggest cinematics fan, but seeing that they have them for a lot of content outside the main quest is pretty impressive. I'm still wearing my skeptical hat, but it's gotten knocked a little bit looser at this point.

You know, the more trailers I see, the more I think this game is going to get bogged down in busywork quests in the open world.

If 200 is a genuine number (That's about the amount of time I put in my one and only Skyrim character over the course of a year before I got bored) I see most of it coming from that.

This is why I don't find long play times encouraging. It usually means a lot of filler and mucking about.

The writers won't let that happen, trust me. All the optional open world stuff is, well, optional. I have no doubt they've put an insane amount of effort into the narrative and game systems. I've a hunch we could blaze through the main story in 40 hours just like TW2 and not touch the open world.
