I'm still on a HD 7870, hoping that the announced minimum requirements don't mean "the game WILL launch, but there is literally no way for you to play the game as anything other than a slideshow".

Don't be ridiculous, minimum usually stands for the resolution, framerate and settings devs consider to be an "acceptable experience". Something along the lines of 900/1080p 30fps medium. Which is pretty much what consoles use in this case.

Now, here's some real nailbiter: trying to run it on i5-2410M & GT555M 2GB like me.

What are you guys running for the witcher 3? I'm debating between upgrading to a 970 or a Sapphire OC 290x. The Sapphire does have the full 4 gigs, but it also has a massive power draw, and it's not quite as powerful. Also TW3 is optimized for Nvidia. While the 970 is a great card, and out preforms most other cards, the 3.5 leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not because games will necessarily require 3.5 gigs (aside from poorly optimized ones) but just because of the false advertising.

Also the 970 is slightly cheaper and comes with a free copy of TW3, so I'd be saving about $80/90 by going with it. I'm upgrading from a 7870.

My Playstation 4.

I am lucky my laptop can play Pillars of Eternity, and even then it was sometimes a bit shaky.

My computer can run Inquisition at medium-high settings, it should be able to get TW3 to medium specs at 30 fps, right?

...right?

Here are the specs in case;

Windows 7 64 bits

12 GB RAM

AMD Phenom II X6 1065T processor @ 2.9 Ghz.

ATI Radeon R7 270x

I'm running two 780 Ti's. Figure that should be good for high-above.

CDPR has been weirdly tight lipped about the graphical options in it. They haven't even confirmed simple stuff like "is there a very high option".

I'm not sure if G2A.com is still offering it, but they had pre-order steam keys for Witcher 3 at £20 ($29).

It came to just under £25 for me, that included VAT and the G2A shield. But it was so worth it. Now I have a steam copy, along with my Collector Edition copy I've had pre-ordered since August.

Does anyone know if the standalone artbook will differ from the one in the CE? I'm guessing it will, but as i've not seen anything yet, I might wait to find out. Definitely going to get the guide at some point after I've played the game, didn't realize how helpful they truly were (Much thanks for Inquisition's game guide for helping me blackmail Gaspard, Briala AND the Empress!)

Isn't that what happens when someone closes their account or gets perma'd? I actually don't know.

Stupid question but if you have more than the required specs why for this game would you need to overclock?

Pretty sure the account was deleted. Permabans don't turn your account into a guest.

Yennefer and Triss, sittin in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g

First comes Geralt, asks "Why not me?"

Sorceresses say, "Because bored is LPP"

More like clawing each others eyes out. I'm really interested to see how the writers handle their relationship, separate from Geralt. They were friends in the books, but there were some seriously heated parts where Yen was ready to flambe Triss' ass. Your post spurs a thought from me that has been brewing for some time. Sapkowski's rendition of sorceresses is decidedly cynical. Cast away uglies form noble families, they're typically vain, selfish and highly manipulative. There's also an inordinate number of lesbians/bisexuals among their ranks. I swear there was a passage in the books where he states that's how they tend to swing. Has anyone wondered about this? I once read a post by a Polish fan which said the lodge of sorceresses was Sapkowski's analogy to feminism at the time. I know The Witcher is basically an allegory of Polish history with slavic fables thrown in, so it's not much of a stretch to me. There's apparently a contentious relationship between him and the intellectual elite in Poland, I can see him taking a jab at certain movements. This is all speculation of course, I reserve the right for someone more knowledgeable to set me straight.

Greater graphical fidelity? More than required might mean 30FPS at 1080p which isn't really what most of us performance aficionados want out of the game.

Apparently those screenshots aren't ultra, CDPR has said they still haven't shown it. Presumably that's very high, CDPR has said consoles run at high and I have no faith that a console can run that level of draw distance at a frame rate that's not through the floor.

CDPR has confirmed Shani won't be in the game, but might be included in the future. Along with Kalkstein. I'm assuming this means they'll show up in the Oxenfurt DLC.

Who is that supposed to be? Is that Shianni's TW2 model (I didn't replay TW2 since release when I played it into the ground).
