I'm not looking up any spoilers before 3 is out.
Next monday will be horrible. 17 youtubers x 45min = almost 13 hours of gameplay
So far I have watched everything about the game, but now I have to resist. I hope to find 2-3 youtubers, who just show the combat and open world and some of the mechanics like alchemy, crafting or minigames and I will try to ignore the ones who spoil the story and quests.

Haven't read any of the story achievements (well except for the first, but I knew it anyways) but the trailers spoil pretty much if you watch them closely, so I guess the battle is
Spoiler?
Yup, exactly. To get the achievement you need all possible allies.
Letho asks what the hunt wanted from Geralt and Geralt says he knows what it is, but do not tell. I think it was the search for Ciri or those with elder blood.

By the way, anyone here put any weight to the theory that Alvin was Jacques de Aldersberg?
It's incredibly heavily implied to the point where it's generally accepted the Alvin is the Grandmaster. If it turns out he isn't then I would assume he was originally but they rewrote it for some reason. He jumped to some other place/time realized the wild hunt was coming, and then came back to try to prevent it.

I wonder why Jacques wouldn't say anything.

In all my saves he stay alive. One of the achievements implies that will have a battle and he will attend, I really want to see it. And there are other also, I will not give details, but he can also participate.
Letho appears briefly in one of the trailers. I usually kill him though, he says he never had anything against you personally, but there's a line where "it's not personal" doesn't really cut it anymore.

He seemed to grow to dislike Geralt, though he does attempt to get him onto his side. Maybe he just didn't care to.

He also says that Geralt is not his enemy. Anyway, I think he can be a good ally and the last hope for his order, if Emhyr comply with the agreement.

Witchers are more less dead anyway. Four left in the Wolf School, Two in the Cat School, one in the viper school, and there's a fourth school called the Griffin School, but I don't know how many are left in it. The witchers in the Wolf School have no desire to continue it, and none of them have the knowledge to anyway.
Most of the Witchers were killed 70/80 years ago when Kaer Morhen was attacked during the winter. The only person to survive was Vesemir. The others who are still around were those who had been delayed returning. Obviously Geralt was one of them.
If anyone is unaware, being a witcher is suffering.

Letho says that there are other two from viper witchers around Nilfgaard, but he don't if they are dead.
From Cat School, If I remember right, only have one who appears in the last book that launched.
Wolf School has Vesemir, he said if Triss help him, he will be able to recreate Witchers.

Jacques de Aldersberg's dialogue at the end of the game changes depending on which lesson you decided to teach Alvin, I think it's pretty implicit

Ha. The first time around when he said "you once told me..." I went "oh sh***, I must have screwed up and picked the wrong dialogue option back then!" I advised him to become a knight and it fitted so well in a twisted way that I thought it was all my fault.
Turns out it doesn't matter what you choose, haha.

The only one I watched was the 35 minute preview, which had Dijkstra in, which was quite nice to see.
I'll be on media blackout next Monday. It won't be difficult, the only youtuber I watch is a small one, only twitch streams I watch are Halo ones, so I doubt they'd talk about Witcher. And I'm picking up Pillars of Eternity/playing Witcher 2 that monday onwards so I'll be quite busy!

In addition to the medallion that Alvin wears appears on Jacques, though a very worn out one which makes it hard to figure out but by this point the answer should be rather obvious.
When you meet him in the swamp, the Grandmaster talks about remembering Geralt's lectures on philosophy.
It's pretty blatant, though I didn't get it when I first played.
W3 minus one month and counting!

Yeah, there are several pieces that identifies Jacques as Alvin, which I find makes the answer quite clear. Though it wasn't like I immediately went all "Aha!" when Jacques mentioned his reasoning for knighthood and such.
And indeed, not many days left. The time will go by fast, which also comes at the most excellent time, since I won't have anything substantial in life to distract me, so I can enjoy TW3 in peace.
