I don't really get how anyone can be pro-anything in TW. At least for me, the take-away is very much about the corruption and decadence of people, and the abuses etc. that follow from that part of our nature. I very much get being anti particular groups or countries, but to me that's very different from being pro something.

You can't because of the vision we get, the Northern vision, but this game can change it ou not. I think not because it's not about politics, buuuuuuuuuuuut they are trying to do it, just see White Orchard.

Agreed.
I'm not sure that scene portrays Nilfgaard as the good guys either. They are after all, invading sovereign nations with the intent of conquest. That's not a good thing, even if some of the individual people taking part have redeeming qualities. The cart was also carrying supplies to the Nilfgaardians, making it a legitimate military target.
In game I'll probably have Geralt try to remain fairly neutral, but betraying a slight preference for the Northern Kingdoms from time to time. It will be entirely situational however. If for example Geralt came across Northern soldiers about to murder Nilfgaardian civilians, he'd save the civilians. But in clashes between the two armies he'll either maintain neutrality or drift towards the Northern Kingdoms, depending on the scenario.
I´ll go for neutral too, top priority protecting Ciri from the Wild Hunt, the Lodge and Emhyr if necessary, and Foltest´s daughters if there´s the chance. Already refused to give Anais to Radovid as there was the chance he´d get rid of Adda and marry her to have a better go at Temeria. He didn´t took it well, left some soldiers in the epilogue to kill me - besides, I got the massacre, so I lost all respect for the guy.

I'm pro-Geralt.
I'm also pro-she-elf
As well as pro-monster hunting because I'm a Witcher, and pro-making orens.

Also, in case anyone is going through Witcher 2 at the moment, and feeling a bit of a completionist run through

All the quests! From start to finish.

-all the snips-
Game will probably look beautiful no matter what. I'm not going try full ultra, maybe a mix and match of High/Ultra, with a lot more of the extreme settings turned down.
And as I won't be going beyond 1080p, I think I'll do fine.
To be quite honest, I'm more interested in the world and the side quests then the main story at the moment. It's just being in the Witcher universe, and Geralt in general, its hard to focus on just the main story.

I doubt everyone is, but custom builds are the best bang for the buck.
What is the size of the map? Is it larger than GTA V

Yes. This is what I'm probably going with:
Intel Core i7 5930K Six Core 3.7GHZ CPU
Liquid cooled by Corsair H60
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Twin Frozr V 4GB graphics
16GB Avexir Platinum Series DDR4 2400 RAM
240GB Kingston HyperX Fury SSD
1TB 7200RPM Seagate HDD
Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Case
750W Corsair CX Series PSU
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
2 USB 2.0 Ports, 2 front
4 USB 3.0 Ports, 2 front
Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 2

Liquid cooling? You sure about this, Slim? Unless you go into some hardcore OC, custom air-cooling works just as well. Also, less risk.

cpu: amd 8350
gpu: asus strix 970
ram: 16 gb 1866mhz
Well thats what it stands atm

I can always go with more fans instead. I'm having this built so I'm modifying a preset here. I'll also go with 4 cores instead of 6. I was wondering about the necessity of liquid cooling as well.

I really prefer multiple fans and a good case with lots of airflow. It's lower maintenance. It really depends on the resolution you want to run at too. Are you thinking greater than 1440?

Liquid cooling is not really needed, and i say this from experience. I live in india, during days outside temp is 45 C, room temp is 25 C and i have never needed water cooling.
Your processor is way overkill, especially if we consider skylake launches soon in a couple of months time. I expect the 980 ti to be out by then as well.

No. After getting feedback it seems going with a native 1080 monitor will offer the best results if i want to play at 60 fps. Breaks my heart little, I wanted to go all out but I can't drop that kind of cash on an even better card and $500 dollar monitor. So it seems liquid cooling can go and I'll stick with a 4 core processor.
