No. After getting feedback it seems going with a native 1080 monitor will offer the best results if i want to play at 60 fps. Breaks my heart little, I wanted to go all out but I can't drop that kind of cash on an even better card and $500 dollar monitor. So it seems liquid cooling can go and I'll stick with a 4 core processor.

On 1080p with the card you're using you don't need liquid cooling. I have a somewhat similar rig (different parts manufacturers but similar specs) and on 1080p I can get 60-70fps without any heating issues without even the maximum number of fans on my case.

I might have to go with a different case then, as the one they offer seems not to have the best airflow and maybe that's why they're going with liquid cooling. Just out of curiosity, what kind of maintenance does liquid cooling require? I've always had nightmare scenarios in my head where it leaks and your whole system goes up in flames.

Well closed loop coolers are not bad, pretty handy if you plan on heavy OC'ing and these days they pretty simple and not much of a hassle. advantage of closed loop coolers is they take less space on the MOBO than custom air coolers, some of the air coolers can get really big and can cause issues there.

If you do want a closed loop go with the h100 as that is very good. But yes corsair closed loop coolers are good.

Maintenance wise not much as its a closed loop so dont have to worry about the liquid, just keep your fans etc clean and thats about it.

I've been running the same Corsair H50 (the original model) for about six years now. I bought it for my i7 920 build and now it's cooling my i7 4790k build. I've had no issues with it. I just built a computer for my lady friend (Cities: Skylines & GTA addict) and chose the newer H50 model. Too early to tell if it's as reliable as the version I have.

I never really needed a watercooler; it's usually fairly cool at all times around where I live, so I just open a window. The world is my cooler. :S

all i get if i open my windows are blasted bugs, tons of dust and energy sapping hot air and heat.

slimgrin your proposed system will easily run witcher 3 at ultra with hairworks at 60 fps at 1080p. If withcer 3 supports DX12 then come windows 10 you will see even more of an improvement. Finally if you have more power than required then just use DSR to downsample the game from 1440p or more.

I appreciate the feedback. Do you have monitor recommendations? I was looking at Dell ultrasharps. Was also looking at some OLEDs.

Go with gsync, if you want a worthwhile monitor then go with gsync based monitors. If one has a good nvidia card then one must try to get a gsync monitor. Though they can be quite pricey.

If gsync is too pricey atleast get a monitor with more than 60 refresh rate. There is also a lot of technobabble about IPS or TN panels but i do not know much about that so cannot advice you on that though people do say IPS panels better but again i will advice you to look it up before you buy. Gsync i can recommend but as mentioned they tend to be quite pricey.

Hopefully this helps

I'd totally install some solar panels on my rig too if sun wasn't a rare occurrence. :P

I'd run a solar Xbox One if it'd have been available at launch.

Actually no I wouldn't have. My drapes are black and my Xbox never sees daylight. I am a vampire/lycan hybrid. Ne'ermind. :P
