I haven't had time to keep up with games for a while. Are there any major differences between the PC and Ps4 versions known so far? Has there been any talk about mod capability?

CDPR is doing a mod tool. It's running at 1080p and 30 FPS on PS4 at mid-high.

They were clearly going for a girl next door sound with Triss in TW2, which is really her personality. It wasn't a great performance by Barbakoff, but I think they could have her tweak things and sound the part. Also, a dev interview with a crap ton of great info. Man the game is sounding too good to be true:

That Ciri game play looked uninteresting. Hope it doesn't last too long

5 hours I think, but it will not be five hours on one chapter, if I'm right, will be divided flashbacks, joining all of them will give five hours, that's what I understood. I hope more abilities to her, since they promised that parts of her will focus more on action.

Witcher 3 IMDB, Triss's voice actor is named as Agnieszka Kunikowska

She is the the actress who voiced Triss for the Polish language version of TW2. I would imagine she's probably just voicing the Polish language version with TW3.

I should probably replay TW2 to remind myself of where the plot is at shouldn't I? Yeah. Sounds like a plan.

Also I'm shocked that the Blue Stripes path is so popular with people.

Maaan, I pity all of you who must play the game in English :P There is something truly great about playing the game in its native language. There are so many things in the Witcher that simply cannot be translated well into any non-Slavic language. Anyhow.

Its mostly a question of whether you like Roche and Ves better than Iorveth.

Lorewise the Scoia'tael are no better than the Blue Stripes in that they also murder civilians.

Nope, 5 hours is just the minimum required to complete the main storyline. There is another 5 hours of optional Ciri segments. I can't remember which interview this is from though.

My 2nd playthrough will definitely be Polish VO+sub. Fellow Slav here, years ago it took me like a week of spending time with polish students in high school to understand perfectly.

Not sure about tW2 and tW3 being that incompatible with other languages, these games were and are meant to be accessible to everyone world-wide after all but Sapkowski's short story collections for example are so full of archaic culturally-based idioms and colloquialisms that I imagine translating them to english must have been a nightmare and it turned out to be a watered down shadow of the original anyway.

I like my boy Vernon Broche a lot, but I like the whole plot with Saskia and Vergen much better than the one with Henselt. So...I'm always torn on which path I enjoy more.

Well, will be fun.

  • Ciri sequences will be (in total) 5-10h and feel more like an action-adventure game than an RPG

I'll probably settle on Roche's path as my first import, though, in hopes of more Roche badassery showing up in TW3.

Based god-tier Roche.

Roche recovery surpasses all other recovery. And he even throws f*ck in for good measure. This why he can't just kill Dethmold. He has to shove his balls down his throat.

...Let's not forget Ves as well.

Oh come on now people, I was all set to run with the Elves so to speak instead of going with Roche, as my only other playthrough I did just that.

Spoiler

I think I'll stick to following Iorveth this playthrough. however if someone can nearer the release of Witcher 3, supply a save with Roche's side, I'd appreciate it. I plan to play multiple times anyway in W3 (Who isn't?) so it'll be nice to do imports that are both Iorveth and Roche with various decisions edited.

Welp, I was looking over my G2A Pre-order for Witcher 3, and it says "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt CD-Key Pre-order GLOBAL".

I could of sworn it said Steam in there when I ordered it. If when I get my pre-order key and its NOT for Steam, I might just chuck it into this thread. Not a big loss if it isn't Steam compatible, I'll just order it again lol

If it's global I assume it will work for anything. I'm personally getting the GoG version

I guess to me it has nothing to do with Iorveth - who I think is a shitheel - but Zoltan. If you help Roche at first, Zoltan comes to you to arrange a meeting with Iorveth's people. To me, standing by Iorveth is standing by Zoltan.

This reminds me of the choice in the first game, where I was actually a bit conflicted, as I loved both Siegfried and Zoltan, but equally dislike the Scoia'Thel and The Order... but in retrospect, siding against Zoltan is ultimately forgotten about in the sequel.. :S

Telling them both to stuff themselves was always my choice in TW1. Neutrality all the way. Same with saving Triss in the end in TW2.

They have nothing to complain about in TW2, especially after Geralt saves their asses from getting hanged in Flotsam.
