Telling them both to stuff themselves was always my choice in TW1. Neutrality all the way. Same with saving Triss in the end in TW2.

Me too for TW1, but I always save Saskia (Always felt  kinda guilty, seeing as I'd unwittingly taken part in helping Phillipa enchant her).

As with most things in TW, I don't see it as my problem. I really like playing the hero in a lighter and softer setting - but when you have a crapsack world, to me what matters first and foremost is personal loyalty, and that puts friends and lovers first.

Also I'm shocked that the Blue Stripes path is so popular with people.

Is that really the case though? Or are they just more vocal? I sided with Iorveth back when I first played it after it came out on the 360, now that I'm replaying it I'll probably side with Iorveth again since I don't remember much about it. I do plan on a Roche playthrough at some point.

Eh, it was less about being a hero and more about "this is partly my screw up and I should fix it."

I can max out Witcher 2 but for 3 I am barely at minimum requirements.

Minimum requirements are generally a bit pessimistic, if you have a PC that's capable of running Witcher 2 I'm pretty confident you can run 3 as well.

Neogaf guys are crunching numbers and *grain of salt* TW3 will dwarf games like GTA, Skyrim and FarCry. We have yet to see, but by the numbers it has one of the largest maps ever.

It's going to be massive, but I'm not sure dwarf is accurate. Here's the relevant passage:

That means The Witcher 3 is at least 3.7 times bigger than GTA: San Andreas (36  km2), 1.5 times bigger than GTA 5 (81 km2), 3.3 times bigger than Red Dead Redemption (41), 3 times bigger than Far Cry 4 (46 km2) and 3.5 times bigger than Skyrim (39 km2). In short, the final map will be absolutely massive in scale.

50% bigger than GTA5 is huge, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't say that's dwarfing GTA.

I just hope it has content to fill the map. I hate wandering for the sake of wandering. Do we know if fast travel is confirmed, in terms of how it will work?

It also depends on how you travel. GTA's map can feel huge if you had to walk every mile.

Thats why I like walking around sometimes in GTA and why I walked everywhere in Skyrim after a certain point. Adds scale to the world.

Yup, never use fast travel for that exact reason. I like the journey as much as the conclusion of whatever quest I may be doing.

The only game I really lamented the lack of an easy way to fast travel was Dragon's Dogma. Due to the annoying pawns saying the same lines over and over, as well as fighting the exact same enemies in the same spots all the time.

Amen. If it doesn't have content to fill the enormous world, it won't matter to me, personally, how big the world is.

If anything, the size of the world just creates an empty feeling if there isn't enough content.

On the flip side, if its filled to the brim with shallow filler content that might actually be worse.

Exactly what I'm worried about! We've seen great stuff so far, yes, but I will reserve judgment until we can see it all. I'm cautiously optimistic about what the Witcher has to offer.

Well the recommended Witcher 3 CPU is a i7-3770 at 3.4GHZ, and the GPU a Nvidia GTX 770

Spoiler

I tagged the above because its just techy talk, and if knowledgeable techy guys could provide a response, I'd appreciate it.

As for the topic, I've been watching a Witcher 2 LP. And I have to say while I'm not feeling the need to play it, its certainly quite enjoyable to watch. Unfortunately the Lp'er I'm watching played it at launch, where it had all the bugs. Most amusingly, an AMD bug that caused massive balls of light to appear. He's chosen Iorveth's path, which so far has been quite entertaining. Definitely feeling the For Elves and Dwarves.

At the moment I've decided on the following decisions;

Aryan Lives -> Iorveth Path -> Stennis dead -> Save Triss -> Spare Letho.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for redheads.

Internet strikes again.

The numbers (8.5x8.5 km + 8x8 km) are based on the overall tileset size offered to the level designers (revealed at GDC 2014) and the actual used space on these maps is smaller. You can in fact see it very easily just by watching Geralt traversing Novigrad in the 35 min demo and then taking a glance at the map:

That's all fine and good. We'll see how well they live up to that statement come May 19th. I'm excited for them to live up to all the hype.

What's interesting is how, despite the very heroic feeling of Ch. 2, the reveal in Ch. 3 makes it so that it's not entirely clear that actually helping Vergen is the best political outcome for the north. Or at least that's my feeling now having replayed TW2.

That means as much to me as all of Bioware's usual marketing fluff, which is to say nothing at all.

Aryan Lives -> Iorveth Path -> Stennis dead -> Save Triss -> Spare Letho.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for redheads.

I did a complete playthrough a half year ago:

Chose Triss in Witcher 1-> Neutral-> Saved Adda- >Didn't give the grandmaster's corpse to the King of the Wild Hunt (though I doubt it matters)

Killed Aryan-> Iorveth Path-> Stennis alive->Saved Triss> Spared Cynthia/Sile/Saskia/Letho

Though I'm not 100% happy with this save. I regret killing Aryan. Mainly because his mother had to make a deal with Nilfgaard in this case and i don't wan't to support them in any way.

I started a speedrun (skipping all dialogues) a few days ago to correct that decision but I played this game so many times, that I can't motivate myself for another playthrough. Currently stuck in the middle of act 1 and I doubt I will finish it. So I guess I have to live with my decision:(

Though I doubt our choices will matter that much. Temeria seems to be conquered anyway so maybe it won't really matter if the La Valette lands are Temerian or Nilfgaardian at the end of Witcher 2.

I just hope I will get a reaction from Yennefer on my Blue Stripes tatoo and all the whoring around in the first 2 games.

Checking the wiki my Geralt slept with 32 different women during both previous games in his canon playthrough.

I think that deserves an angry Yen if she knows:)

I'm assuming it's the standard 2GB model 770
