Who is/are the (main) Healing/Buff Mage in the party this time along?
This is very important to me since she/he/they is/are likely to be the lynchpin of my party. Tactically. So I'd better get to know her/him/them well before hand. You know?
Thanks!

In the demo it looked like it was Vivienne. Though I suppose you can make any mage your white mage.

Nice!
I already appreciate her fashion sense and I adore French language, cuisine, and culture. C'est magnifique!
P.S. The Demo had no room for party selection though, and Vivienne looked she might as well be DPS. Doesn't she?

It wasn't superclear in the demo. Sometimes they were drinking potions though I saw party members going down on their HP and up again and I don't know if that all potions or Vivienne (being the only other mage than the Inquisitor) healing them. I know the player definitely wasn't healing.
Being a White Mage means having Plot Armor in my party.
That's one reason I could never kill Anders in DA2 no matter my alignment. Sorry Sebastian! As long as your faith cannot heal or buff me and my other friends, I'm choosing the terrorist/freedom fighter over you.
You can probaply build every mage in your party as healer. At least I hope so, DA2 was sometimes painful when I had to take Anders with for heals and Fenris with me cause he's best warrior for both tanking and dmg. Just add Merrill there and your party is full of insults and hurt feelings ^^;
Actually I saw Heal spell available option, any mage can get it. I am not sure where the screenshot is.
Hopefully it won't be Vivienne, I can imagine her presence becoming tiring. At this point I would hope it was Dorian, but meh it could be any of them.

Theoretically, maybe. In practice, one of them is going to be better than all the rest, since each companion will have a unique (and powerful) Specialization.
Considering how magic works on Thedas - and that healing magic there is deeply related to spirits - I would bet that Solas (as a dreamer and fade specialist) would be the most likely party member for healing and buffing. Dorian, as a necromancer, could also be an interesting choice if they explore the whole "to study the dead you have to study the living" overused paradigm. For me, Vivienne is the most distant to this role, as she prefers self-assurance and personal gain over gentleness/care over her party members. Again, their personalities Could change by the player's decisions and let's not forget that the fade invasion is probably causibg some chaos to the way magic works for Inquisitor & Co..
Very cogent analysis.
I hope that Solas & Dorian would both be White Mage of some sort, but with different flavors, just like you said.

I feel the same way. I'm just not digging her character. If it turns out she's the main healer, I'll just roll a mage that can heal and do the job myself. I was planning to play a necromancer anyways. I imagine that they must have some healing abilities similar to a blood mage.
my elven magequisitor will be my "white mage"
le supporter! I always play support in games, at least that's the route I choose first since it allows me reason to play my companions if i need to nuke the bad guys. But in other playthrough's I will probably build Dorian to support for me becuase lezbereal, a SupportMage from Tevinter? That's like a Scottish Korean!
