Hey guys!  :)

I am really looking forward to DA:I and since I own the Collector's Edition of DA:O and the BioWare Signature Edition of DAII for the PC, I was really looking forward to pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition of DA:I! Sadly, it would seem that no retailer in the UK is listing the Deluxe Edition for the PC, while all of the other platforms have both the standard and deluxe versions available!

I am one of those people who likes having a physical game collection, so I'm not interested in buying the Digital Deluxe Edition at all. Could we please have an update on whether the Deluxe Edition for the PC will become available for the UK/Europe anytime soon? DA:I is not that far from launch and I really want a physical copy!  :(

Bioware can't help you with that but I think someone during the Q&A said it's unlikely.

Found it:
Q: Any word on a physical deluxe edition for PC in Uk/europe?
A: Likely not going to happen.
Items in it will be made available for purchase separately. (MD)

Thanks for the info!

Given how virtually every piece of DLC for DAII, be it equipment or otherwise, was made available some time after launch, then I'm hoping this will be the case for DA:I as well. Also, several people posted that Gamestop.ie held pre-orders for physical Deluxe Editions for the PC, but when I checked their website earlier today they only listed Deluxe Editions for the console versions, just like every other retailer in the UK.

I'm really disappointed that the PC version isn't getting as much love as all the others!  :(

I had to pre-order from Amazon.com. No way Origin is getting my money (I suspect it's because of them we can't get physical Deluxe in Europe and UK)

I'm starting to suspect the same thing - since EA/BioWare profit a lot more from Origin sales (since they don't have to pay for printing DVDs and shipping retail boxes for digital sales), they might just have PC Deluxe Editions for the US because they're cheaper to ship inside their own country. But then again, why ship the standard PC edition worldwide and not a physical deluxe edition as well? They're literally the same box, just with extra DIGITAL content included!

*sigh* I'll order it from Amazon.com as well I think. I really dislike buying digital copies of my games and I only do it when there really is no physical edition to begin with!

Does anyone know if the game is region-locked? I remember my copy of Skyrim came from the US and I didn't have a problem registering it with Steam and playing outside the US, but since DA:I will use Origin, I'd rather not risk buying the game from the US and then not being able to play it!

If you buy for PC, it really should not be region locked.

The whole thing really makes no sense as you say....

And Bioware has not even had the decency to explain to us why we are being disadvantaged.

Bit the bullet and pre-ordered through Amazon.com. However, there's probably no chance I'm getting the game anytime near the release date by importing it from the US...  :(

Does anyone know if Amazon ships international pre-orders in advance, just like it would do nationally?

I do prefer physical copies where possible though more recently just went digital just due to most of my local game shops in Stockton on Tees shutting down and the one's that are still open have a paltry selection of PC games (5 or less) usually requiring me to order them in special via a distributor. In this case I just got the digital Deluxe version from Origin though so far none of my Origin/Steam games are region locked,as far as I'm aware its tied to your account, though there are times steam will send a verification code to your registered email address if it finds your IP address to be different to the one you last logged in from have never had that with Origin as of yet

I wouldn't hold my breath getting it on release date. Probably a week or more after...

Every pre-ordered copy* of Dragon Age: Inquisition will grant you access** to Flames of the Inquisition gear:

  • Multi-class Weapons: Smite your enemies with the Flames of the Inquisition weapons arsenal. Whether staff or daggers, greatsword or war hammer, these weapons will make short work of your foes.
  • Inquisitor Armor: Protect yourself against the onslaught of enemy attacks by suiting up in the Flames of the Inquisition Armor.
  • Armored Mount: Flames of the Inquisition gear also includes a valiant steed, complete with its own set of Inquisition Armor forged from the flames of battle.

**Packaged versions of the game will include a code used to redeem pre-order content.

That's not exactly true. If you pre-order the standard edition through Amazon.co.uk, for instance, you only get the Multi-class Weapons, while pre-ordering at Game.co.uk only gives you the Armored Mount. I want the Deluxe Edition so that I may have access to all of that gear, plus the extra mounts, the throne, as well as the extra bonus content being hinted at!

They also mentioned in that QA and a twitter message that due to the inability of providing the physical deluxe edition everywhere the DE content will be available to get separately.  Might not be right at launch but its something they want to happen (and why not it makes them more money for no loss). And to be perfectly honest nothing in the DE is must have for me (ooo a dead horse with a sword in its head ), still want to know if that "bonus digital content" is story content though or just more fluff.

As for why it isn't available in some places, it most likely comes down to production (actually making the boxes, discs etc) rather than any "we want more money EA Ea EA!" thing.

To the "origin isn't getting my money" thing...yes it is...you are still paying for the game, thus Origin (EA) is getting your money.

I pre-ordered like someone else said, through GMG at a discount (So I can get the digital extras separately if I want to).  I can make my own physical copy of the game anyways, don't need someone else to do it.

The only experience I had with Amazon.com shipping out of the states to my country (Canada) was for my SWTOR collector's edition.  They did sort of pre-ship it, but not as soon as they did for other people I knew who lived in the US (I think it was only a day before) even though they had the boxes for a week or so before hand b/c they aren't allowed to by publisher shenanigans.  I complained and they shipped it via a faster courier too lol.

On a side tangent (sort of applies), I can get stuff through regular mail from the Amazon UK, across an ocean, faster than I can from Amazon.com. Oh and Canapost Sucks at shipping packages (it also costs more to ship the same thing to someone in my own city than it does to Texas O.o).  One of the reasons I buy less physical stuff now...

I wonder though if buying the extras afterwards will cost almost as much as the game.

If Oblivion taught me anything, its that horse armour is not worth any price. Oh and shooting a sword with an arrow while you drop it, magically makes two swords :P OOOOoooo Shiny, horse still dies.

Don't know about Amazon but when I preordered the ACIV CE from gamestop US for my Day One XBO in Austria, it arrived stunning 5 minutes after my locally ordered XBO release Day One.

No deluxe edition, this is the best you can get.

Thank you so much for the replies guys, I really appreciate it!  ;)

I did recently change the delivery speed to the fastest available, so now it should arrive in 2-4 days instead of the original 8-14 (by Amazon's estimates anyway!). This would make it a day or two after launch and if I'm incredibly lucky, it might even arrive on release day. Now that would be a miracle, but hey - one can hope!.

As for getting the pre-order incentives after launch, I am almost positive that BioWare will release them as equipment DLC, along other weapons, armours etc., just like they did for DAII. I, however, would prefer to have them on my first playthrough, so I don't regret my decision to pre-order from across the ocean. Still, I can't help but feel disappointed that the rest of us who aren't based in the US have to jump through such hoops to get the version of the game that we want. There really is no justification for not making the physical Deluxe Editions available to us when they apparently have no problems shipping the standard editions!  <_<

I bet they will cost more than 1600 bioware points though

Maybe not quite that many points, but who can really say? That's why I want to avoid that and get them with the game itself on launch day. BioWare also teased some other bonus content and I don't think it'll be equipment-related, but rather some quest or something like that. But if they do include a whole separate character and storyline like they did with the DAII pre-orders, then I can imagine people will be really pissed. There's a difference between (largely) cosmetic pre-order incentives and full-blown chunks hacked out of the game and put behind a pay-wall!

That's great to hear! Man, I can't wait to get my hands on this game. Hopefully it will really be 50 hours for the main storyline!

Had they said this? Or had they said the first piece of DLC won't be a companion?

No dlc companions of any sort for DA:I. No Dlc companions from past games can appear in DA:I either
