I think that's to show that Leliana is really pissed at the inquisitor after being tortured.

Why would she listen to the Inquisitor when she was just tortured and left there with no rescue for along time?

I don't think she should be pissed at the Inquisitor unless she said that Cullen or Josephine's tactics would be better, but then the Inquisitor sent her anyway.

Not sure if this has been posted here yet, but Cameron Lee said in an interview that this entire quest can be avoided - it's an optional plot path that the Inquisitor has to choose.
"Then decisions that you’re making in the story -- like what you saw today -- can have a flow-on effect, both through the rest of the story beats as you go through, the ending, and what content you see.
So it’s really very complex, about how much control the players have over the types of content. And as I was saying before, that whole demo you saw, in the last half of it, when you’re fighting with Alexius and Felix, not all the players are going to see that, because going into that area is the result of a branching choice in the game. So you may have picked another area and you wouldn’t be going into that castle at all, you’d be going somewhere else entirely.
There’s whole sections of the game that are like that, that we branch off entirely. You can go to Red Cliff Village, and see the consequences of you picking the other decision. So we’ve made sure that any exclusive content, you can still see the flip side of the consequences as well."

Technically it was her fault for getting caught ![]()

I'd like to think that Leliana would give you her opinion about how much of a bad idea she thinks sending her in is before you actually do so, if you don't listen to her...bad things happen, maybe...

Cool trailer, but since when is Leliana a cold-blooded killer and since when is she also anti-mage? In Origins she states that, as a bard, she made a point to avoid violence as she preferred more subtle means of getting things done. Also, she becomes friends with Wynn and Morrigan and can become a Mage-Warden's lover, so it makes no sense.
EDIT: Also, is it me or did we just get a major spoiler regarding the fade tear and who made it? Cos it sure seemed that way to me.
Well if you harden her she admits to like killing people and they mentioned if she is send there she'd change because of the torture she went through. It's probably magical torture seeing as she said no one should have that kind of power.

Perhaps, I just hope she's not all dark-side 24/7 cos that'd get old pretty fast.

I don't mind characters having there own mind, can't expect you to have complete control over everybody. But i do want the option to have words with her about it, maybe even kick her out if possible, although id probably not take that option.

I remember during the video Mike saying that Leliana might be pissed because you sent her.

Plan to get my money's worth and then some ... Plan to play it all with many saves of course

I don't think that slicing that guys neck has to do with her past or her "murderous nature". After all that guy is a creep that is sustained by some magic force. He looks like tainted or something. There is a good chance she just thought to put him out of his misery but just wasn't in the mood to be courteous with the enemy and play the game.
What I disliked more is that the Inquisitor is complying too much in that particular scene.

One thing that was striking to me at least was the fact that Leliana acted like a guest character after you saved her which gives me hope that the same could happen to Morrigan and Cullen

While I was more impressed with the visuals in Part 1 of the demo, it's definitely starting to look like it's really coming together as a Dragon Age game. The combat all looks right, and the plot and characters are definitely starting to appeal.
Get 'er done.

Would've been fun if there was some kind of actions you could do to prevent other characters from murdering other characters. Interrupts like Paragon and Renegade actions from the Mass Effect franchise. Alas, it won't happen in this game...

The fact that Leliana (any character really) did something that seems to come from within her and not just what you told her to do might be the best thing shown from this game so far.

Well, they said that if the Warden romanced her then the Inquisitor will get to see a softer side of her in some conversations, so that bodes well for your scenario.

Not getting her tortured seems to be the action to prevent her.
