I keep watching this over and over. Augh, too much to say, I am just so amazed. It looks engaging, exciting, beautiful. I'm moved by Leliana praying as she buys Dorian and the Inquisitor time.

Is it October yet????

The demo looks great. Each new video only gets me more and more excited for the game.

And it was awesome to finally hear Dorian's voice. Don't see myself rolling a male inquisitor, so I probably won't get the opportunity to romance him but I can see most of my characters being very sympathetic towards him.

The whole time I kept thinking in the video, "Man, Leliana ... you've turned into a cold hearted B ..." but I guess if you had an option in sending her and she forewarned you that she was not right for the mission, I can understand it a little better.

So it sounds like we have two options here:

1. We don't even go to Redcliffe. But then what is the fate of Redcliffe village if that happens?

2. We go to Redcliffe but may potentially sacrifice an advisor depending on the choices we've made?

Tough decisions in this game indeed. I wonder if there's a third unknown option.

Cullen certainly seems better suited to the mission, but he's already been tortured once. I don't know if I could suffer through it a second time with him.

All in all ... great demo. I want MOAR.

Liking that each decision can affect the story. I wouldn't not choose Leliana for this part of the game though just going by this, however. Perhaps she is the best choice for the job but certain conditions weren't met before starting it. As an example; Garrus was one of the successful choices as fire-team leader during the suicide mission yet he failed if he wasn't loyal. Similar situation here perhaps?

I can't wait for the game to come out. Also, I have a feeling that Leliana doesn't die but I don't know. Also, In my first play through, I want to have the same party make-up as the demo except having Cassandra instead of the Iron Bull and I also will send Leliana to do that mission.

I'm loving the murder knife on my back belt. No more magically pulling it out from under my robe. Now the knife is exposed and you know when I reach for it you better run. Assuming that is the knife(I hope so).

Leliana seems kinda bitchy now. I'd just as soon have seen a new character than bring back one that might well be dead for a lot of people and change her personality.

Oh my goodness it looks like half of them are dead at the end  :crying:

Please tell me this situation is avoidable.

Leliana is never dead even if she died in Origins. They promised that they would give us an answer in this game as to why she suddenly rose from the grave and appeared in DA2 if the warden killed her in DAO.

Once you open the fade portal Dorian gets a healing spirit to save sera and leliana and whatever shredded bits of iron bull still exist

That would be the cop-out to end all cop-outs.

EDIT: To clarify, I am saying I'd much rather they save themselves than have Dorian essentially become Superman and save the day.

She is mad because she got tortured by mages no less.

I wouldn't be surprised if Iron Bull charged through the door and rescued Leliana; there's a reason his limp body wasn't dumped on the floor. Also this doesn't look like end game content as the elder whatsit is still out there. Given this I don't think Leliana would be killed/taken out of commission at this stage just for the mechanical reason of having a spymaster to give spy orders to. But maybe they replace her with another character. *shrugs* we'll just have to wait and play.

She seems badass to me. "Do you have weapons?" "I want the world back." "You have as much time as I have arrows."

I have been very impressed by what I have seen of DAI so far.  The two gameplay videos are awesome.  This one especially was nice as it gave a nice look into the story and companion elements that Bioware really shines at.

I loved Leliana's reactions in the video, they make sense to me, and I like that she is not just a puppet to the desires of the inquisitor.  Her reaction was based not only on the fact she had been tortured - but on all the history as well.  Justina had been killed in the first breach, perhaps the warden as well.  This man was part of that cabal that created it.  He had responsibility for all the death and suffering it has caused.  So she took from him that which he held dear.  She hurt him as she had been hurt.  I like it.

We don't know the context. Maybe the inquisitor was a jerk to her the entire game and has not built any approval at all.

Leliana always was a cold hearted B.

People seem to not understand that in DAO she was lying to herself that if she stays in the chantry her past as a bard/killer/spy/thug will somehow disappear. She's always been that way.

She even admits she enjoyed killing Marjolaine.

Well so did I. I always use the quick menu to literally bullet-time her decapitation so I can soak it all in. I do the same thing to that lord's son in the City Elf origin. Super disgusting people like that deserve to have people reveling in their death.

I'm guessing that the elder one Alexius alludes to is the antagonist of the game.

So should I not watch this video? I was hoping for some more gameplay mechanics to understand, but I really don't want more spoilers

There really isn't anything too bad, there is zero context to what they are saying.  Also you could turn off the sound, there are no subtitles.

Hello all. It's that time where I'd like to share some of my thoughts and opinions about part 2 of the E3 demo regarding the Qunari Female Inquisitor. I didn't make one of these threads for part 1 because most of what we saw there we saw in the previous videos, but we see a lot of neat new stuff/mechanics in part 2!

The video for your reference:

-0.32 says "This requires a rogue." So, if we didn't have Sera in our party, what then? Are we to go all the way back and get a rogue in a party? Are we to continue the mission without ever rescuing her? Is there an alternate way of getting in that room? I don't really like this implication that we must ALWAYS have a rogue in our party.

-1:03 in DA:O Leliana was having a conversation with Shale and once said "I don't like my thighs, but we work with what The Maker gave us". I bet she was really appreciative of those thighs The Maker gave her now  ;)

-1:13 LOL I'm sorry but I imagine the Dwarf Inquisitor is going to have an issue with this. They simply aren't tall enough to naturally unshackle Leliana here. I imagine they're going to do some weird edit to make the Dwarf Inquisitor look proportional, like they did in any romances regarding Dwarf Wardens in DA:O.

-4:21 I actually love this concept/idea. Beating a bunch of enemies down, weakening the Tear with each death, until the Tear is weak enough to close.

-4:36 Says we got a new power. Do we get a power for every Tear we close, or did we gain enough experience? If the former, I imagine we'll be getting a lot of powers...

-5:23 stealthy mechanic shown, how walking instead of running actually makes you somewhat undetectable to an enemies so long as you are not in their line of sight. Love this idea. I already see myself playing this part absolutely ANNIHILATING the Spellbinder through careful tactics and superior planning. I also am really digging the tactical map showing strengths and weaknesses of opponents.

-5:57 looks like Leliana is helping with the fighting. I reckon she'll be as insignificant to party damage contribution as previous NPC companions were in previous games.

-6:08 and beyond WOW Iron Bull is kicking some major ass! We see him use multiple active talents in succession, it's amazing the combos he did. The first attack looked like Holy Smite, perhaps indicating he was a Templar in this demo? Other than that we see Whirlwind, Tremor, and Scythe, which looks to have been redesigned into a "run into your foes manually" type talent.

-7:51 our beloved dialogue wheel. I'm glad many multiple options has returned, instead of just 2 general paragon/renegade ones. Also see the height difference between a Female Qunari and a Human, it's quite significant.

-During the entire Alexius fight, I was really annoyed how Alexius kept repeating himself. Sheesh. Iron Bull really kicked ass that entire fight though, even though Sera stole the victory that the end! Damn, Sera hits fu*king HARD.

-Ahh the Sera controversy. Not even going to go into that here, there are enough threads discussing that.

-13:53 and onward, that looks fu*king cool.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the demo. I have to say the music sounds really awesome so far, I'm digging every tune I hear.

What're your thoughts? Also, knowing what you do currently, who would you take on this mission?

I gotta say I would've sent Cullen (if possible instead of Leliana). I would take Dorian, Blackwall, and Cole. And no, it's not because I hate Cole, I know he would likely volunteer to fight his brethren (Fade spirits/demons) unlike Sera who was scared/full of doubt.

Also Blackwall because of his "sacrifice" persona, as they are sacrifice their lives to buy us time for the spell. I still may choose Iron Bull though, he's too badass to pass up.

Nice video. Liked what they overall showcased.

Though one feature I found that bothered me was that did Leliana disobey a direct command? Itr's true that we don't know the whole story behind the situation, but I can't see Leliana losing her control by simply being tortured by mages. If that truly is the case, then I will be a bit skeptic in having her continuing as my advisor...

In the dialogue wheel there was an option for the Inquisitor to say: "Release him". Should she choose it, then Leliana would disobey her direct order. Yet the Inquisitor said "Give us the amulet" and "You will answer for what you've done" before that. I don't hear "release the hostage, I want peaceful solution" here. Leliana just used renegade interruption. :)

Beside, the torture, and we didn't know the backstory and what was that horrible thing Alexius did.

Thanks.

I suppose what they called that thing was already too much of a spoiler, not sure there's much more they can do without flat-out revealing it.

I really, REALLY hope they don't do that.

Yeah, I'm gonna be avoiding trailers now after that one. But I am still pumped for this game. I loved Origins and DA2 both, and I am expecting a lot from Inquisition.
