I don't know why anyone would get the bright idea to bring their spy master on such a perilous mission ...
Note to self: leave Leliana at home when you go to Redcliffe Castle.

Because her and her assassin's/spies might actually be good depending on how you handle it

I don't think she was brought along so much as sent ahead. The intent was probably either to figure out what Alexis was doing or attempt to assassinate him.

Because...reasons.
They'll come up with something. Or not.
The basic problem they face narratively is that they chose to have persons with power and responsibility - leaders - act as party members performing deeds of derring-do. While it is just about credible that a 'leading from the front' person leads an army's charge ( a la Alexander), small party actions are another thing altogether. As for having the spymistress exposed to the possibility of capture, interrogation and revealing vital information...well...
It is something that may be quasi-believably explained away, but it's really ' videogame reasons'. Not a good thing in terms of believability, immersion and all that, but hey, at least the colours are pretty !!!
Scenario: A castle held by powerful mages.
Who do you send?
1. The former Knight Commander of the Templars.
2. Leliana
Good choice, Inquisitor.
I wonder if you responded with are you alright and she just dust it off as in dont pity me we got more important things to worry about
Im gonna hook my laptop up to my TV and play the E3 demo videos so that I can get a taste of what it will be like to play it on my TV come Oct 7. Or should I say Oct 6 at midnight? Lol
Technically the 7th but you know what I mean.

Hahah I'm so happy I'm on the west coast, my ps4 should preload the game and be ready to play at 9pm Pacific Time
More on topic, I'm still rewatching this video....

Or it could be because we lack the context of the scene in question to understand why we would send the spymistress of the Inquisition. It's slightly better than "lol reasons"...
A Transformers : The Movie reference. Awesome.
Unless you don't know what I'm talking about, then forget I said anything.
I'm still catching up - have they said why the PC can close rifts, or is that a mystery I should wait for the game to reveal?
A mystery, except that the green glowing chunk of fade in your hand is related...
I wonder how they managed to torture Leliana, though. She is wearing armour. The armour would have protected her.

Epler said that it isn't the final model for that scene (Rather, they decided not to use the final model because it was too spoilerific for whatever reason)

Yep. From the 'constructive criticism' thread:
RE: Leliana's appearance. That isn't final on that segment, for reasons which include spoilery things.
Maybe by that time in the game she gets dragon wings like Deekin.
Maybe the choice made available to send her on this mission is presented as a dumb idea, and that's why Lelianna is mad at the Inquisitor.
Video is up!
That was neat, thanks for sharing. The Dorian bit made me LOL.Video is up!
I cannot possibly express how completely excited I am for this game.
Thanks! I'd totally missed the shield buff effect and the Inquisitor's hand glowing near the fade rifts. Some good catches there.Video is up!

Maybe the Inquisitor wanted to be discreet? An army would attract attention.
One thing that struck me about this dem is comparing it to the recent trailer. We see Leliana chaimed up in the same room as she is in this demo, except she's attached to Red Lyrium and her hands are bound differently. It makes it seem like the events in that castle can be very different if you take different paths.
