I'm getting the impression that the events occurring in the demo require a number of poor decisions on the player's part.  What I saw there looked almost like a failure arc.

 

I got that impression as well. Although we don't know what happens after the cliffhanger (maybe that fade amulet thing will save them all), Leliana's already disapproved of being sent there and that's a mistake on the player's part.

I am anxious to see how the cutscenes go if you send Cullen instead, or if rather than asking Alexius for the amulet you choose the "Leliana, let him go" option instead.

Just going off of Leliana's surprise at the Inquisitor being alive and her torturer saying "there's no one left for you to protect" is it safe to say Alexius tried and failed to kill the Inquisitor? Alexius also said "I knew I hadn't destroyed you." 

 

Interesting.

The one thing about Leliana in this, and I know its been 10 years and all that...I may have to replay DAO a bit but was she always so...you know..."I'm the knife of the maker and I'm going to murder everything /crazyeyes". I know she was devout and all that but I don't remember her being so holier-than-thou.  I wonder if her comment about mages would be different if the Warden as a Mage romanced her.

 

A thing that I hope changes come release is the whole "huge open cavern" areas that have no enemies to kill in them.  Sure make the game to be pretty but I want **** to kill, not walk through empty corridors...unless it for dramatic effect but that gets old after a while.

One think I love is that NPCs( in that case, Leliana ) aid you in combat. I always hated it when in Mass Effect 2/3, it was always Shepard+2 versus the rest of the world.

Ya the mages, and the templars, and pretty much everyone else other than you.  I would have thought that she was smarter than that, especially given her previous experiences with mages that hadn't gone into "Nazi bad guy mode".

I think Leliana's quote was more in the heat of the moment because she's been tortured. She certainly doesn't hate Wynne and even sided with the Mages in Asunder so I doubt she really hates Mages. She just hates all the Tevinter mages in the castle currently.

The ice spell Dorian casts at about 11.18 I think, may not be blizzard from Origins, but it sure looks awesome.

Here, I'm listing the times of pure gameplay in the video, where the narrator isn't speaking too much, or at least not about story, and nothing revealing of story aspects are in the shot for those who are cautious about spoils. unfortunetly, idk how to do that thing where you can actually make sure the video doesnt go past that point, so keep in mind where I list to stop watching!

Another thing Alexius said during the boss battle was "where are your assassins this time?" 

So maybe Leliana and some others were sent to assassinate him, failed and were captured.

Dorian sounds fantastic and I've gone from not caring about Sera to being a little bit in love. Heh.
I'm also starting to get used to Iron Bull's freakishly small head.

But dayum. Dark times indeed. The kind of dark times that lead me to make poor choices and have a disasterous first play through.

I got the impression from the dialogue that Alexius and his followers might be directly responsible for the **** hitting the fan, and are now realizing just how badly they've f****d up.

 

But I don't exactly think Leliana will go around killing mages on a whim after this point, she just needs to cool down a bit.

For the next video you really need to adjust the audio correctly.

In this one and the first part the combat sounds were way too loud and the voices way too quiet.

 

I've noticed the same problem, having to max out volume to hear conversations during "quiet" moments only to have the speakers blow out once the action kicks back in.

I'm guessing that the elder one Alexius alludes to is the antagonist of the game.

I actually don't think so.  There are a couple of ways to interpret what was revealed in this video.  I think Alexius could possibly be responsible for The Rift explosion etc as a pawn or he may not.  However, Dorian makes reference to being able to open the rift back up-meaning it is closed-meaning I don't think that is the same rift that the game revolves around.  Alexius may be associated in some way with the plot arc, but I think the Elder one is just a bad bad mojo demon which Alexius brought over, which you somehow have to send back through this other rift that Dorian is opening as the video ends.

 

I just don't think bioware is going to be so tight lipped about who the antagonist is and then let such a blatant referrence to him drop in a preview video.

 

Also, the video flat out says that Alexius is the leader of the mages here, speculation from that, it could mean that the characters from Asunder are killed when the rift is created.

Was anyone able to catch what Leliana said as the castle started to crumble? I think I heard her say something about a demon, but I'm not quite sure...

 

And I couldn't understand Sera's line right after that. I got that she was talking about "it", and now I'm really interested in finding out what "it" is.

Holy sh!t. This video was amazing.

A) it's amazing that a few demo videos can actually make me super interested and enjoy a character I didn't previously like. Leliana, you're a BAMF.

I'm really intrigued that advisors can be part of missions in this way. The Q&A said they couldn't accompany you on missions, but clearly they're considering this something else. Is love seeing the other advisors in something like this, too - Josephine at the ball! Cullen in... Something. I think Epler at one point tweeted that Cullen was a BAMF. I'd assume he'd have to be doing more than war table advising to get that conclusion. MUCH HAPPINESS.

C) Mage animations still kick incomprehensible amounts of ass.

D) the whole thing is already so engaging. I don't think anyone looks at these videos and doesn't want more!

E) Sera will be my bestie. There's no getting around it.

F) I may try the tactical combat approach for the first time. It looks really great.

I just can't wait!!!
