Calm down.
i am calm. i was expecting DA2 combat. i just thought BW would actually do something about.

Looks like you need a rogue to open the door where Leliana is. People looking to do an all out mage party or warrior party the whole way through might want to rethink that.

It's not exactly DA2 combat. Still a little bit of flair and all, but it's slowed down a lot more and the moves aren't as unrealistic.
That was amazing! All the characters look incredible, the gameplay's exciting, Alix's voice is good, the world is beautiful (probably less so on my PS3), the music's amazing.
I hope the choice isn't to send Leliana or Cullen (and whoever you send gets tortured). Especially since Leliana's already been tortured once before, and Cullen's already been tortured by mages (or demons?) once before. Seems like whoever you picked would be seriously uh... upset... afterwards.
I wouldn't send Josephine though (even if it's possibly as a diplomatic emissary). Because I really couldn't let that happen to her. And I want to romance her.
I'll send cullen. Hopefully he'll get tortured...

I'll miss the color guard dance moves mages had in DA2, though. Shooting stuff out of your hand is cool and all, but I want to twirl dangit.
I feel like I will be playing that game for the rest of my life!
I'd assume there are other options judging from the way he phrased it. Military approach seems like the most obvious alternative.
That would my guess as well. Alexius seemed quite insane, so I doubt the diplomatic approach is feasible. The 'best' solution is probably storming Redcliffe with Cullen and your troops.
Also during the boss battle Alexius was taunting, "Where are your assassins this time," so it sounds like Leliana may have went in with others who ended up killed/executed.

That would be extremely annoying.
I just don't think bioware is going to be so tight lipped about who the antagonist is and then let such a blatant referrence to him drop in a preview video.
Cliffhanger ending!!! Just whets my appetite for the game even more!!!

Send in Cullen and you would end up with a bunch of dead soldiers too, because, you know...demons. But that's what they are for I guess ![]()
Some thoughts:
1) The Elder One? Is the endboss Cthulhu? :3
2) ~*~Dorian~*~
3) Also Sera
4) I'm super curious about how our choices are going to matter in this game. How would this be different if I sent Cullen in? What if I did something different before sending Leliana in?
5) I thought Advisors didn't fight with us? Isn't that what some dev said? Or did they mean advisors don't join our party? Because looks more likely.
6) I'm going to need a table to figure out the new dialogue system. Sad that there doesn't seem to be a dedicated snark option, though that's probably a good thing.
7) ahhhh is it October yet???
yeah advisors won't be in your party, but they will fight as NPC companions.
Well that was...intense I guess. It put's to bed a lot of fears I had for this game but the cut scene animations and lip syncing still look wonky. I guess it's hard to better them with out motion capture. Maybe that's an area Bioware could look into for the next dragon age game. All in all, really excited to play this.
I do agree, lip syncing on Alexius especially looked a bit wonky. Although i thought they were doing some motion capturing. Could be wrong though.
Definitely sending Cullen instead of Leliana.
Cullen makes for much better mage and demon bait. ![]()

I hate quoting Robert E. Lee (would have been a Union man myself), but he has an excellent quote that is relevant here.
"To be a good soldier, you must love the army. To be a good commander, you must be willing to order the death of the thing you love.“
That would be extremely annoying.
Possible there was another door or a key, but if not that would be annoying.
so ah, game have zones. so much for open world
You only just now realized the game has zones? This information has been known for many months, possibly even more than a year by now. They haven't exactly made it a secret for anyone who frequents this forum often, as you clearly do. Also, even The Witcher 3 will consist of multiple zones and yet is also called an open world game. Heck, one of the main open world franchises, Assassin's Creed also often features multiple zones. If game developers want to show off more of the world without making the world too small, zones are the way to go instead of going the Bethesda route where cities are just ridiculously small.
It also beats me how anyone can be surprised about how combat works when we already have seen most of the demo at E3 and we have even seen combat footage last year. Anyone who hangs out on this forum for months shouldn't act all surprised about this demo.

They have done motion capturing for the game but lip synching has very little to do with it. Voice actors don't say their lines with all kinds of wires attached to their faces.
I could have sworn the devs said that it's your choices that decides if they are even tortured or not, why is everyone saying that it's going to happen either way?

Good point, I hadn't thought about that, I'll have to remember to bring Sera or Varric along with me if I'm not playing a rogue.
Oh god that demo makes me so excited for this game. The ending was so thrilling. I don't think I can survive this until October ![]()
Dorians voice surprised me, but I love it nevertheless. It suits him really well. The music was chilling as well.
I am so excited but scared at the same time that I could kill Iron Bull, or Dorian because of my stupid decisions. Maker save me. This game is going to be way too emotional for me.
Ok, I wish they would have explained dialogue options a bit, though. Wasn't it mentioned that we could show certain emotions during a dialogue? I read about that ages ago, so maybe I'm wrong idk.
The facial expressions disappointed me, too... The characters look extremly stiff, especially the part with the shaking ground and Seras "that's how it won". Is this going to be fixed, or is this some graphical restriction because of frostbite? Something like that won't destroy my gaming experience, but I kind of hoped for a slightly better animation for a crossgen game. :/
Sera's body disappears when the perspective is shifted to Leliana.

Why is Bioware showing only offensive spells and no buffing/debuffing and also hardly any crowd control? The combat that has been shown so far is unimpressive IMO.
I really want to see some deep tactical combat (and the PC user-interface), this Skyrim-like button-mashing combat is not turning me on. At all. More Dragon Age: Origins and less Skyrim (and DA2) in the next video please.
Off to play some more Divinity: Orginal Sin. Kthxbai.
Did anyone catch what Sera says after alexus is dead and the castle rumbles? I watched it twice, but i couldn't make out a word ![]()

Another reason why I preffered the Digiexpo demo :v
That would be extremely annoying.
And yet I'm really curious to see how not having a rogue in the party would affect that scene.
