There have been two articles that go into crafting, one from GI and one from IGN, and both seem to agree on the point of how the crafting will work.

You'll get generic armour and weapon models that you can make using things such as "metal" or "leather", but which leather or metal you use will change the look and stats of said weapon. They've also said that you can mix and match different materials.

I welcome this as it makes crafting a lot more intuitive rather than bringing in a load of drakeskins to get an armour made, and it gives you a huge amount of options for customization.

I'll keep adding articles that go into crafting here:

"Your choice will not ony change the way your equipment looks, but will also give you different stats." - I'm not sure if I like that. Weren't devs saying before that players should be able to choose looks and stats separately?

There might be a second step to customize how the armour looks after it is made if you don't like the look of it. Hopefully we'll get some more info soon.
