So I've noticed differences between the character kits and the various trailers and screenshots. As far as I understand, the kits are provided to be a guide for cosplay but I want to be as accurate to the game as possible.

Example: Cassandra

Kit shows beige/brown pattern bottom layer while the trailer/screenshots show this a being red.

Kit shows red fabric on the back and edging of the tunic but this is brown in the screenshots.

Kit shows gloves are brown and black, all trailer and screenshots show them as being solid brown.

Kit:

Also Varric - generally things shown in the kit are absent from the screenshots like the shoulder, elbow, leg armor and the chaps.

I was thinking the kits must have been made first and then either limitations or aesthetic changes caused the difference seen in game but I don't really know. Any thoughts on this? Which version does BioWare want to see? I'm leaning more towards in game version of Cassandra but I prefer the added armor and chaps 'Kit' version of Varric.

Oh my gosh, yes!  I just notice the same thing with Sera's leggings.  They're definitely bright green in the game and definitely brown and tan in the kit.

Spoiler

I know the kits probably came first, but I also heard they're still messing with colors in-game.  So which do we take as "final"?  I was all set to buy a pair of ridiculous green leggings until I checked the kit.

You'll see differences in screenshots because of customisation and upgrades. But the design will be distinctively theirs, so what you put on Cassandra you can put on Blackwall but will be different from one another.

I knew about the customization option, but I assumed what we saw in trailers would have been the default.  It is entirely possible that they were messing with the customized gear for the trailers.  Thanks Ymirr, that makes me more confident about using the character kits as the default!

I understand customization for changes in armor (Varric's chest armor vs open shirt) or changes in the art on tabards or something, but for the color of underthings like the color of the leggings and gloves? If that is the case, then Hooray for uber-customization; I just don't really buy it in that instance.

I did decide to go with red for Cassandra's leggings, shirt. I just wish we could know how accurate the kits will be to what we actually see in game. I know those are small details, but those little things can really make an impact.

thank you :)
