I just want to ask if anything bad can happen if a journal entry of, let's say 20 is an end point, but 30 is not.

Example:

You kill a guy, journal entry is set to 20, end point, quest completed.

You don't kill him, but help him escape, journal entry is set to 30 and continues where... let's say 40 is an end point as well.

I don't think so.  I think all the "end-point" checkbox does is determine whether or not the entry is displayed in the active or completed quests tab of the journal.

I confirm that the number is not taken into account to determine whether the quest is completed or not. The check box is.

Moreover, you can have as many quest endings as you want.  I have numerous stages marked as "endings" for different outcomes.  I place them all at higher numbers (100, 200, 300, etc.) as a standard practice, but they don't need to be higher than non-ending stages.

Ah that's good. Tchos I also have many many endings in most quests. They work fine, but I just wanted to know if they might create problems in the future :).

It may be obvious, but you can also reopen a finished quest by either setting its stage to an earlier one (using the override higher parameter) or have additional quest stages that are in fact higher than the one marked as "endpoint".  Perhaps you'd want to surprise your player, who thought the quest was dead and buried, only to find new developments which force the case to be reopened.  Or perhaps the player chose to decline a quest, but some NPC took actions that brought the PCs into involvement, whether they liked it or not.
