I know those are one of the many options that could happen in the game, but i was wondering, does Alistair if he is king, lead his armies to help defend the grey wardens under attack? Not to mention, will any of our warden companions from awakening, Oghren, some choices we made from DA:O's side quest, or main plot quest have allies go help defend the grey wardens under attack? And will this attack bring our Warden Command out of the shadow's?
The Grey Wardens, and the attack seen in the trailer.

About the attack on the wardens seen in the video, there was a thread about inevitable part of the game. If I remember correctly, some said it had to do with the wardens being controlled by Corypheus. Check the wiki for info on this villain.

We don't know if it's optional. Talk of Corypheus is speculation. Sorry, OP, the devs haven't told us the info. The answers you're looking for are probably too spoilery. They gave us just enough info so that we have these questions. Questions that are incentives to buy the game and find out.

With Last Flight coming out in September, I think we'll get answers for what's up with the Wardens then. Personally, I think it's either red lyrium or Corypheus behind what's going on.

No he isn't. He posessed the Grey Warden you supported.

Yeah, the music and cinematics weren't exactly subtle in hinting this.
