You better make sure you do things differently than whatever caused the demo's outcome, because Sera is killed in the demo. Posting just in case anyone missed this detail. This also fully confirms that party members can actually die, and not just at the ending like ME2&3. This is going to be an intense game if party members you really like can die unexpectedly to a choice you made. If you doubt she died, check her wide open eyes. People in fiction don't faint with their eyes open.

Also, I really doubt their going to kill a companion and spoil it for everyone in a video.

It was hit by one of Leliana's arrows at almost that exact moment. That's it recoiling from the hit.

Also, I really doubt their going to kill a companion and spoil it for everyone in a video.

 

She looks pretty dang dead and limp to me. And why wouldn't they spoil it? The whole point of the demo is to show how epic the game is. Showing companions can die at any time in any quest is a pretty good way of showing how serious and dramatic the game is going to be. This will be the darkest Bioware game yet.

 

So yeah they spoiled her dying here. But that is very unlikely to be the only place she can die or that someone else can either.

She was. Sera isn't dead. I'd highly doubt they'd show a companion dying at E3.

Oh and people? Her eyes are still wide open. She fainted with her eyes open? Limp and not moving with open eyes tends to mean death in fiction.

Yeah, I would assume she's KOed until you can get her healed up, just like in DA:O and DAII. Although permanent deaths may be implied by what happens to Leliana at the end of that Redcliffe demo video, based on decisions you make, I also don't think the demo video confirms that. It's a big assumption.

The whole limp argument = dead is my favorite one. If shes unconscious, shes also limp. Fun fact - they look about the same (unless you notice someone breathing). Doesn't mean shes not dead though but it seems odd they would make a situation where they just murder 2 of your 'companions' because you sent Leliana to scout ahead or something.

 

That seems REALLY awkward, actually as generally that would rely heavily on a bunch of other factors before they'd just murder a companion off. I can bet you 'anyone' you bring with you to that situation has the same issue. Hell with the way that scene was looking there all dead but you and Dorian, and again i doubt you lose 3 people 'just cause you brought them along' on a mission. Seems excessive and pointless.

I thought it was kind of lame how Sera and Iron Bull go out to handle the enemy attack while Leliana stands there whining about not having enough time. Why didn't she go with them and be useful?

As I've said this before: They showed Wrex dying before ME came out.

She was. Sera isn't dead. I'd highly doubt they'd show a companion dying at E3.
