She's not dead. If a companion is going to be permanently killed off there's going to be more pomp, circumstance, needless chest clutching and famous last words as they go out in a blaze of glory. As opposed to an off screen death combined with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it pan of the camera.

There's also no way for the player to truly know, aside from another character walking up and checking. So it wouldn't make total sense the way it is.

So she is pretty much dead yet somehow the full context makes her alive. So... Did that demon suck her soul out and defeating releases it again to go back into her body? Because this makes it sound like it's a weird scenario.

I don't know if she's dead or not. I do know I don't expect Alpha demo animations to be indicative of what's actually going to be in game, particularly in such detail.

Technically never says whether she is concretely dead or not, but he does pretty much say don't assume things just by how they look. Either he's manipulating us, or Sera isn't dead.

So... what if its a spell? Was just thinking, Sera says something about 'thats how they won at blah blah'. What if that specific demon puts people under a spell. Could easily be a CC ability in combat to take a party member out temporarily. Cutscene wise it would explain how they got past IB and Sera so damn quickly, and he could just be tossing her aside after that.

 

Only real context I can think of that would be missing that would make that make any sense. That or its just weird movie magic time-skipping. I just think it woulda made more sense for IB to get thrown through the door then sera tossed aside to show they failed to hold the line other then IB being know where to be seen. Just a random thought.

I am still waiting for your solid proof that she is dead. The scene in that video makes it out that she's defeated and no longer conscious but not necessarily dead. I want solid concrete evidence from you that she is dead. otherwise no dice.

Then why don't they use that spell on Leliana? Also, Iron Bull is a BIG dude. Given the option between him and Sera, I would drag Sera. Not to mention the fact that Bull is a melee fighter, so he is probably out further than Sera. If I were Sera, I would be closer to the door, putting as much distance between myself and the enemy as I could and firing a bunch of arrows. .

It is also entirely possible that nothing there is as it seems. That may not even be Sera at all. With the Fade and reality freely mixing, we may be seeing a scenario like the Companions dealt with in the Fade during DA:O.

Sera and Iron Bull may very well be still fighting outside the door, and this an illusion.

Yeah I doubt whichever companions you send will just die without a bigger scene. Sera is not dead in that scene

David Gaider said that scene isn't what people think it is. which means that most likely she isn't dead. keep twisting other peoples words all you want but it doesn't change the fact that your only evidence is your own personal opinion on what happened.

Thank you. It seems people are attacking my position because they don't like that I highlighted it and they don't like the idea of her dying so unceremoniously, so they're trying to do everything they can to argue that it can't possibly be what it looks like.

Actually, this post pretty much sums up BSN in a nutshell. If she's dead I'll definitely will have tears coming from my eyes.... Tears of joy, that is.

I don't have any, but neither does your side. All Gaider says was things aren't as they appeared, and also said that people can die in Redcliffe based on choices. Hence why this is speculation.
