I'm going to guess the answer is Leliana. No matter what you do, she lives, and she knows where the urn is whether you desecrate it or preserve it.

You don't have to recruit her though.

Lol sound like something out of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood as for the Urn "sigh" yet another Dragon Age decision stomped on I murder knifed that brother because the sacred ashes must remain hidden.

I don't get why everyone keeps saying Ferelden owns the land when the Chantry could have just bought the rights to it at some point in the last 13 years, particularly since the crown owns no land and all of Ferelden is owned by Teryn, Arls, Banns, and Freeholders.  If Anora is in charge she wouldn't know and just sold a plot of land on a mountain side, Allister may have sold it to them if they came to him given his beliefs and background.  It does bother me since I played a generally nice guy but killed Genativi just so the Ashes wouldn't be disturbed by thousands of pilgrims would likely take all the ashes within a decade or two.

Guess you have a point about the land ownership, great point. Not even the Chantry knew where the Urn was, which makes me believe they did not own the ashes / urn. Someone pointed out that the maker owns the ashes, could be but I don't buy that Andraste was married to the maker, it was a figure of speech.

Did not get round to killing Genetivi, how did Leliana react to that?

She had a human husband before she became the "bride of the maker" only when she died  He was a warlord who grew jealous as she became some kind of holy symbol and people began to credit her with their success as apposed to his leadership on the battlefield, in addition they were Alamarri and a long way from their home in Ferelden which caused it's own problems as they marched further and further north, which led to his betraying her to the Tevinters.  It is said she had children but that they all died and the Charntry refuses to admit anyone is related to her thought it could be argued that if her tribe is still around they would have some claim to it as she was theirs.

It's been awhile since I played it but I don't think she was very happy with me so I tended not to take her, didn't want the disapproval.

Oh, that's right.

I wonder how the game reacts if Leliana has never met the Warden or seen the ashes. Hmm...

Because of a series of freak circumstances, the Dalish are the true owners of the urn.
