Hairdressers and tattooists?

Most of us have probably been there where we want to change our character's hair-style or remove/add a tattoo a few hours in. Do you think Inquisition will feature hairdressers and tattooists where we can do this at any given time provided there isn't simply a mirror of transformation to do this? Has any of this been confirmed?

I mostly always create a character I stick by and like the look of but occasionally there's always one character I do something wrong with in the CC and it bugs me when we're unable to change it.

There isn't anything right now, but they said they are looking into making changing your character into a DLC possibly.

I'd like to know this as well, since I couldn't live without the Mirror of Transformation in DA2, since I tend to create characters but when I see them in-game, I realise they need additional 'tweaking' so to speak.

And since we already had this option in DA2, there's no excuse for it not being in DA:I in my opinion...

It's something like when it was never there in the first place you'd never really miss it, but having had a taste of it, it's something impossible to live without.

And I hate having to start over the game and going through all those unskippable cutscenes just because I wasn't entirely satisfied with my character's looks (oh hi there Mass Effect!)

I completely agree with you on this.  I believe it has been stated that you go straight from the character creator to the game, so starting again wouldn't be an ME2 20 minute experience.

Well not really. They said the CC is right before the game starts, but what they meant was that there isn't any gameplay or cutscenes before you can actually create your character, like it was in DA 2.

I imagine there will still be cutscenes right after the cc.

You character ariving at the peace conference, the first rift, your character escaping the rift, meeting with cassandra and so on and so on. Though i hope they make those skipable, i always hate it when games force you to watch cutscenes.

True, but you can see you character in the scene after it's created and reset instead of "unskippable cutscene, dialogue choice, walk with helmet, cutscene, character creator."  So improvment!

All i know is that if Vivienne doesn't offer my scruffy dwarf inquisitor a makeover then I well be sorely disappointed.

Scars... I want broken noses, blinded eyes, gouges in the flesh... I want my Inquisitor to look like he battled hell's legions... cause, evidently, my Inquisitor is battling Thedas' version of hells legions.

Pretty people are mostly good for one thing... and warfare isn't it.

That's fine. I want these things too (even made a list about them in a thread a while back) but what has any of this got to do with wanting to change your character's hairstyle - or something - later on in the game?

Well - mostly agreeing with changing characters - but in a different way.  I'd love having scars because of things that happened during the game.

I'm all for tattoos and hair and changing them.

But - I'd rather things I mentioned first (doesn't make it better - just opinion)

Eh, I'd be fine with tattoos and everything so long as it doesn't glitch like in Fable and you end up with the landscape painted on you.

"My body is a roadmap of pain."

I'd love to see the mirror of transformation show up or some way to adjust your character after the CC. Sometimes you can't see things you want to tweak until you see the character animated in a cutscene. I once created a Femshep with horrendous fishlips but I didn't catch it in the CC and didn't see it properly until a couple of convos into the game. I don't know how tough it would be, but maybe there could be some sort of preview in the CC which puts the character through different facial animations, smiling, frowning, anything which gets used commonly in conversations. Maybe something for a future game.

Maybe that magic mirror from DA2 will come back.

I see no reason why there shouldn't be a barber/hairstylist and tattooist in our bases. I'm actually really surprised that Bioware has not automatically implemented something like this in their vanilla games seeing as how often the fans have requested it.

I suppose it's not a priority, considering the amount of stuff they pack into their games.

If they bring a mirror of transformation, they should make it at the end of the longest, hardest, and creepiest dungeon they can mastur

I agree, having something like the transformation mirror would be incredibly useful. I played through all of DA:O with my mage character's blush been too bloody intense and looking ridiculous as a result. Very tedious.

I think it'd be cool if we had Hairdressers and Tattooists on Castle Campus, it'd remind me of the various services offered in the Suikoden castles *I almost always compare skyhold to Suikoden lol* And it'd be nice and offer some dynamic feel. It'd be even cooler if in party banter that they'd notice your change in appearance.

The mirror though was absolutely GENIUS, I had to change my character once or twice and I wish i had it in DAO when I made a guy with Alistair's exact hairstyle... A thing I was wondering if they're implementing is if we can somehow get scars in game on our face somehow but I highly doubt it.

I adored Suikoden and would love to see this implemented.

That said if the mirror did come back I'd like a more in depth quest to discover who, or should I say what, the owner of the Black Emporium is? While still leaving mysteries and unanswered questions that made me adore the shop. I don't want the mirror to be able to change history though.

It really should be considering that they have issues with their CC and many people need/want to change their character once they get them out in the world. This has always been a problem, a huge problem, which many have been vocal about. Moreover, many people just want to change their character "over time"--add a scar here, change a hairstyle, etc.

That's why it's surprising to me.

It would be a curiosity to not have an editor in DAI considering past gen games have one; eg. Dragon Age 2, Dragon's Dogma and Skyrim.

Well Skyrim didn't have this feature 'officially', you needed to put in some console-command to get to the character editor. It's still pretty easy though!

For some reason I though this would be another "more romance options" thread

silly me

We can turn it into that if you want, my friend.

I'm good thanks

though I do think in the next DA BioWare should do a better job of representing these two important segments of the population

I mean Thedas has hair (well not the continent itself) and tattoos right?
