In space, stop having space ships and fighters doing aerial maneuvers. It doesn't work that way.
Blame Lucas.

The Mako is definitely enjoyable, but it was the segments that could get a bit monotonous. I actually did like the planet exploration, but the length and general sameness was a bit of a killer for it at points.

I know. ME is science fiction, Star Wars is space fantasy, and a lot of people don't really get the difference between either.
Regarding planet exploration, I really wish there was the ability to rove between settlements, like ME's version of the Mos Eisley space port, or some small colony.

Like a rapid transit section right? If you're going that route, you could also have the ability to drop a beacon on where you were at and be able to return to that point as well from the start map.
Well, it's just a thought. I really love the concept of planet exploration, but I guess the problem is determining whether or not really fleshing this out is worth it when we'll likely be traversing the galaxy and traveling to multiple worlds and possibly space stations as well.
Planet exploring could be cool if the environments were much more detailed (like Skyrim) and the locations weren't marked on the map so you actually had to explore to find them (and there was a radio, maybe?). Of course, that would be a pain in the butt to develop.

That would just lead to people developing their own maps.
What I like is the idea of dynamic environment creation. Randomly-generated bump map with vegetation sprinkled in (if applicable). Like Terragen.
I found driving the Mako on PS3 to be pretty easy and, dare I say, enjoyable.
Same for me.
Before ME1 was available for the ps3, I played ME1 on the pc, and I had a really hard time controlling the Mako.
I found the Mako very easy to operate on the PS3. But I've never played ME on any other platform, so I cannot comment on it's gameplay effects.
Imo the only problem with planet exploration was just how much of it there was. Well, I say problem, I personally enjoyed it for the most part, but not every planet needs it, I guess. Maybe it could be cut down to certain worlds. I wouldn't mind vehicles for some mission segments as well, like on Therum or Overlord, that was a pretty good format I thought - not something I'd want for every mission, but some definitely
I'd like it if the story was around a band of people out in the Terminus, either ultimately going with routes along the lines of Garrus' Archangel antics, Aria's crime lord of the region antics, or a more evil pirate/slaver route.
It's just that game devs can't be bothered putting an additional game interface for a Microsoft controller for the PC.
