we should be able to make our camps into small forts over time to have more control and a larger impact on that area. where we can upgrade defenses, add more soldiers to the camp, have room for storage and crafting, be able to make dwarven walls for the camp or fort. so basically be able to make fortified camps.

Maybe we can.
My main concern about camps is that we be able to put them up in lots of places because apparently they're where we have to hang around to recover hp so I'm going to be visiting them before every boss fight.

I would imagine we would have one or two forts per area (depending on how big it is) and that would be a central hub for our crafting and allocating resources for the inquisition, and we would have 3 to 4 camps around the area where we could change party members, heal, and possibly store stuff.... But I expect the camps to not have all the bells and whistles the forts do.

with help from your inquisition forces you should be able to i think. like if you get the proper materials and man power, you could build up walls for protection.
