When ME2 came out, i got excited that you could import the previous games charachters.  Now im freaking out because im not positive what the minute decisions were that i made with each charachter...or how each could effect my gameplay through ME2 (yes ive seen the charachter importation vid...the large picture is reviewed before starting, but not the minor points which aparently still effect the story).  SO, I'm starting over from scratch...didnt delete the ME1 cache file in my documents, but i did delete all my prior save games.  Then, when creating my new character, i noticed that i was still able to re-import my old characters.  Now i had 2 origonal, and im making 2 new that in most respects are identical to the 2 old (same name, same respective backgrounds, etc.)...so NOW, im fearing that when loading up ME2 i will have 4 choices of importation with 2 sets of identical charachters and i may not be able to figure out which are the new and which are the old.  Also, deleting the ME1 cache in my directory is out of the question as that will clear my current character that ive already put about 10 hours of gameplay into AND it will clear my completed achievements which are obviously making my playthrough now much easier.

SO, what do i have to do to clear the old charachters out, while preserving my new charachter and the acheivements?  If an easy solution exists to clear all charachters but save the achievements, im open to it but i would still like to know of a better solution.

There are three categories of files that are pretty easy to sort out. Profile.MassEffectProfile is your achievements. Files that begin with the character's first name are mid-game saves. Files that begin with Char_01 are end-game files, the ones you realized were still around.

If you want to clear out all end-game exports and have only your in-progress character, delete all Char_01 files. If you want to delete only the older export files, identify those files by the dates or other factors in the names.

Format is Char_01-LL-#-#-#-DD-MM-YYYY-HH-MM.MassEffectSave

L=Level

H=Hours value of Time Played

M=Minutes value of Time Played

Haven't bothered to figure out what the #s indicate.

I searched the forums but couldn't find anything like this. My internet was out for about a week. during that time I "recovered" my gamer tag at a friends house. back on my console I started playing and got a few of the 150 kills achievements for pistol and organic kills. I finally got internet back and had to "recover" my gamer tag on my own xbox and the achievements I had before are no longer there. continued playing thinking that there was an online counter and it would just take another 150 kills to pop. but two full play-thoughs later and still no achievements. is there an achievements profile I can delete? I have deleted all saved games and cleared my system cache. am I just SOL? any other suggestions? are there specific game forums that I'm not finding or is it just by the individual post?
