Horribly so.
Those are modded.
This game is not supposed to be a supermodel game. The faces look fine and the only real issue is the hair.
Morrigan and Leliana are older than in DAO and visually I believe Bioware aged them properly. They aren't supposed to look "attractive", flawless. They are supposed to look like they are in their thirties instead of looking "attractive" as if they are photoshopped. True attractiveness as shown in the media doesn't exist without the help of photoshop or lots of makeup.

What they said. The faces are more realistic and Leliana and Morrigan have grown older. Leliana having brown eyes in the screens is a bug, she'll have blue eyes in the game. Morrigan has been doing her thing in the Orlesian court for years, she must fit in and their fashion sense rubbed off on her. She was half naked in DAO.
Anyway, if you on PC I'm sure appearance mods will come out soon enough.
We agree, but Leliana and Morrigan should still be one of the most fascinating characters of the game.
Morrigan is a witch, a creature that should be fascinating. Here it seems a woman of easy virtue .... T.T
Leliana has blue eyes and dark as it appears in the Inquisition.
Then I say, just to improve a little 'appearance. So I am really few ones I like.
Morrigan works at Celene's court she has to dress the part.
The eyes of Leliana were adressed and said to be a bug.
What is interesting is that two factors are working against each other:
With the improved game engine we are on a journey toward a more photo-realistic appearance (though we aren't completely there yet).
Less advanced graphics tends to mean smooth (low-graphics) skin, clear complexion, symmetrical faces which are more cartoon-like.
More advanced graphics mean more skin imperfections, spots and dimples which make the face appear more realistic.
A perfect example is Josephine (pasted below) whose face is not airbrushed to perfection.
So BioWare have improved face detail, which may in a still photo be less beautiful (by conventional standards)
however the increased detail will complement the writing and give increased immersion and engagement making the emotional content more powerful.
In short, all good. Ultimately the test will be how compelling it is in movement and not just in a screen shot.

An interesting article on physical attractiveness by the way:

No questions about Leliana, but the first time I saw Cassandra i was like "what have they done to her, she looks awful".
I hope they will look better in the game...
I don't really like the new look of Morrigan, she looks really weird somehow.
But Leliana and the rest of the women look fine, they are all very pretty.
Well Viv could do with a smaller lip, but what can you do.

Same here. But this is also true:
Ultimately the test will be how compelling it is in movement and not just in a screen shot.
It wouldn't be the first time where i was like "meh" about a picture while going "it's actually alright" when seeing it in motion.
Cole's hair reminds me of the wool of a sheep
The Dragon Age franchise has moved to a more realistic engine, time for anime-like smooth and featureless faces is over. I like the more realistic look, I actually find the faces more beautiful.
Looks beautiful to me.

I really like the look of Leliana in DA:I. But yeah, characters like Cassandra and Morrigan have definitely gone down hill a bit. Cassandra doesn't even look like the same character any more.
With Morrigan's looks, I find it a bit weird. I have no idea what ages they are in the lore, but I always imagined Leliana as being older than Morrigan (Leliana being late twenties, Morrigan being early twenties as of DA:O), yet in DA:I it looks like Leliana hasn't aged a day since Origins (maybe even lost a few years), while Morrigan looks like she's aged thirty years in the span of the fifteen or whatever it's actually been. It's a bit disconcerting. She actually reminds me of Blanche from A Streetcar Named Desire; an aging former beauty who's desperately trying to cling onto her youth. Maybe it's just the heavy makeup she's wearing that's giving me that impression.

I really want BioWare to put a character that is actually, legitimately, objectively ugly into the game. Like "there's no way that's biologically possible" ugly.
And then make her the only straight romance option. It would be glorious.
Ah, that would be brilliant, bioware would get so much hate but it would be brilliant
. It would also be good if they gave her a really good and likable personality just to see how shallow some people were.

I think that might be the point. I can't imagine that he washes it very often, and he seems to like to shove a big felt hat on it.

Looks like they have done it already.

I've always found it weird that, on average, nerds are more sexist than jocks.Jock or nerd?

I'd be a hypocrite if I said looks don't play a significant part in my choice of LI. Even if looks alone don't cut it, there gotta be some attraction. That depends on the character I'm playing though. The Mass Effect trilogy is full of attractive people, and my Shepard only wanted Aria
Works the same way in RL.
In any case, it would be fun to see. Think of the outburst here!

Go a step further. Make it so that her personality is actually specifically tailored to what the player likes. Like one of those creepy Japanese virtual sex dolls.Ah, that would be brilliant, bioware would get so much hate but it would be brilliant
